riding lawn mowers
I'm going to buy a riding lawn mower since I have a half acre lawn now. Does anyone have any recommendations for good reliable riding mowers?

My in-laws used to have a Grasshopped mower. They have a zero turn radius and instead of having a steering wheel they have two handles. Once you get used to driving it you'll love it!! It's great for mowing close to plants and such!!

We have two riding mowers. One is a Craftsman and the other one is a John Deere. Both are very good mowers. The craftsman came from Sears and the other one came from Lowe's. Happy mower shopping Gayle!

I would love to have a zero turn mower. I think any of them are good as long as they're taken care of. Snappers are good and reliable and not too expensive.

LOL! Jessica, you are missing out! I was mowing the lawn by the time I was 10 years old! Actually, I will have our lawn mowed every other week by a lawn service, but I need to be able to mow it between when they mow, in case we have lots of rain. I also want it to have a little trailer pull behind it to haul things around the property and to have a fertilizer spreader. My yard is too big now to do all that by hand.
Thanks everyone for all the feedback. I think I'll get a John Deere - I just love the thought of having a John Deere tractor - even if it is just a lawn tractor.

That's probably a good choice with all of the extras that you're wanting.

That's what I thought too - they have a little trailer and a fertilizer spreader in the John Deere brand, and they seem to be much better built than the generic ones.
