OK, with Gary I told him it was just like medicine, he had to eat it. Then I found the tiny bottles of the flavored drinkable yogurt and he liked that better. Dannon has some and Activa is a drinkable yogurt. There are probably others too. Some of them are so tiny that you can drink them in one swig. I think if Gary was having that much trouble with his bowels, I would just insist he take it like medicine. But then, he probably is not as stubborn as your mom.

I didn't know there was drinkable kinds of yogurt. That may be an option. And just for the record....I dont think there is anyone as stubborn or selfish as my Mother.

That's true - but be sure it has live cultures in it because it if doesn't then it won't help the loose stools.

Here's a link to the tiny bottles of drinkable yogurt called Yakult
http://www.yakultusa.com/ It sincerely tastes like those orange cream dreamsicles ice cream bars. I would imagine you might have to go to a large grocery to find it.

Mom said "no way...I told you I don't like Yogurt....of any kind!!!!" I just told her "fine...clean up your own crappy pants". Sometimes .........
This morning I was on the phone with my good sister-in-law and walked in the kitchen to see how Mom was doing. She was leaned over picking something up and when she went to stand up...she fell backward. Mom hit the back of her head so hard on the linoleum floor. Even my sil heard it through the phone. I couldn't even get to Mom in time to ease the fall any. She seemed okay, but I made her lie there for a few minutes. Then I let her sit up for a few minutes and then helped her the rest of the way. I almost couldn't do it and it made my back ache. I was here alone and finally got her up to a chair. Tomorrow she wants to go to her house alone for the day. I asked her if she was nuts and she said "no, I haven't been for awhile and I'm going even if I have to drive". So..guess I'm taking her in. I told her that if something happens....she's not coming back to my house...she'll be going to a nursing home. It was hard on me lifting her and I just can't do that too often. I do try lifting the correct way, but it's hard when it's a person you're lifting.

Oh Janet, that is not good. But I think you are right, just let her go to her house, and what will happen, will happen. It's not worth the fight.

You know....please don't think bad of me....but I do love my Mom...I really do, but I'm so tired. I sometimes.....sometimes wish it was all over. I know I'll regret saying that...but I can't help how I feel at times.

Janet, I totally understand what you're feeling. I went through this same thing except my mom was with my sister. For a laugh: wonder if that's what they of us as teenagers?!

Sorry, Janet. I know that all of this is hard on you. A day alone at her own home may be good for her. She probably needs some time to herself as well. Just enjoy your time alone as well. Give her instructions to take it easy and rest!!! Good luck with that one!!!

That is not selfish. It is honest, and having had a mother who was very sick all of my young life, I certainly understand. There is always a conflict when you are being stretched too far!
Good luck with her "going home visit." Prayers that things go smoothly.
