SO weird!

I've always been overweight. I'm hypothyroid which decreases metabolism. I have arthritis and coronary artery disease which have made me less active than I used to be... But lately I'm losing weight!

I worked for the past 7 yrs online, so was very sedate. Now 6 days a week I'm walking 2 blocks to the post office, walk a couple blocks to get our lunch, and am on my feet much of the day working in the bank. It seems to be helping! I hadn't even noticed until I started seeing my clothes hanging on me. When I stepped on the scale, I found I'm down 10 lbs in the past month; to just 2 lbs more than I was when I became pregnant with my first child 33 years ago! I just wish I hadn't been overweight already then!

I'm just thrilled and shocked. I had to share! LOL

WOW, guess I'm gonna have to get off my butt and start walking.

Congratulations on the weight loss. I am so envious right now!!!

I know what my problem is...I like to sew.....so I sit, I like watching some shows.......so I sit, I "have" to be on YT and 4WT.... so I sit. I am going to make a better effort to get on the tread mill.

I take meds for my hypothryroidism too and just had it checked. It's in the normal range. Even though I'm glad about that...I also wanted an excuse!! Shame on me. I just need to be more active, but it will have to be on the treadmill I guess, because I hate being out in the cold.

Thanks ladies! I hope it keeps going down. I would LOVE to lose about 50 more lbs. It sucks being overweight in general, but for health reasons it could really be a good thing to get more of this weight off.

Janet, since I went on thyroid meds several years ago, I've lost about 52 lbs. My dr said most don't get that big a result, but mine was SO out of wack that I had a lot of weight gain from it I guess. Now that I'm back to where I was at age 18, I half expect to plateau out soon. It seems too often we have a "set" weight that our body likes to stay at, and I'm not thrilled at the prospect of staying this heavy if I can avoid it.

I've been on Thyroid meds for a few years and have not lost any because of them. I gained a lot when I was in my 30's from fertility drugs and shots. Really made me gain then. I've just decided that after the holidays I will start back with Weight Watchers and get off my fat a$$!!!!!

Wow that's really wonderful to lose 10 pounds without even realizing that you're loosing it!!! I take meds for hypothyroidism and it sure didn't help me lose any weight. I'm like Janet and I have a very slow metabolism and I'm not very active. So what ever you're doing keep it up!!!!

I know my BIGGEST problem with weight gain and then trying to take it off is mostly my inactivity!! I'm either sewing, watching TV or on the computer. I need to figure out a way to get my keyboard to the treadmill. Of course there will probably be a lot more misspelled words than there are now, but you guys are smart and would be able to figure it out.....LOL

I'm crossing my fingers that the weight loss continues.

My best real life friend called me tonight specifically to tell me she'd heard from her Mom that she had run into me at the post office today and how different I look! I hadn't realized I'd lost enough weight for it to be noticeable in a winter coat! LOL Her Mom and Mine have been friends since before either of them married, so she's known me my whole life. It was good to hear she thought I looked good!

The one downside to losing is that my NEW office attire is starting to hang on me and I really hate to go spend a whole bunch on smaller ones yet. What if I gain it back or keep losing? I don't want to have hundreds of dollars worth of clothes I can't wear.

You could buy just a few things at a time. Also, belts and accessories are in style now, so maybe on some of the items you can add something like that.
