how much to tip at Christmas?

I just had my hair cut last week and I normally tip him $5.00 he charges me $25.00 for the haircut I am an old customer..lol Anyway, I heard on the radio on a morning show that you are suppose to tip the hairdresser what you pay for the haircut, I gave him 20 dollars, as far as resteraunt depending on service I give 15 to 20 percent.Bottom line give whatever you can afford..
