I started reading the book

I started reading the easy way to quit smoking...My daughter read the book 4 weeks ago and hasn't smoked since...She has really been getting on me about starting to read it...so...I started it tonight...I have only read the Preface and Introduction and already feel it is going to work..the author of the book, Allen Carr, smoked 100 CIGARETTES A DAY!! and he quit...no cravings, withdrawls, or weight gain!! I hope to be done with them before New Years!

I can't wait to get that book Brenda! I got two books for Christmas...read the Robin McGraw one already and started on Marley and Me today. If I can get to Lafayette (to look for a Monitor) then I'm looking for that book too!

I hope that this works for you. I know that smoking is really hard to quit. My Dad died of complications from smoking. You CAN do it!!!!

I hate to admit this and get my hopes up, but I ordered the book too.
I don't want to quit smoking, but I know for health reasons I really need to. It would also be a lot cheaper, as I smoke Mores, which are a premium ciggie and cost well over $4 a pack.

I'm hoping if it works for me I can give it to my son and youngest daughter to try. Joel says he's ready to quit and was quite interested int he book when I told him about it. Katie is gonna be a tougher one to crack.

So here's hoping! Thanks for the info on it... it's certainly worth a try!

I definitely want to quit completely!! I honestly just don't know how a book can help. Since I love to read...I will try anything. I don't smoke as much as I use to, but I just can't understand how...as much as I HATE it, it's so hard to just quit.

Janet, I'm hoping the book can teach me a new attitude about smoking. There are times when new information about something can change your thinking on it dramatically, so I'm just hoping this will be one of those times for BOTH of us!

I did once quit for 4 months. Then I had a really stressful time and a friend offered me a ciggie and I went back to it like I'd never stopped.

I haven't finished the book yet...I wanted to wait until after New Years....and the comment I honestly just don't know how a book can help. is EXACTLY what Allen Carr says in his book...that people thought the same thing. My daughter said that he repeats alot of stuff in the book. I would think this is "the power of suggestion" and this is why he does this...I too am steptical..but the success rate of people that have quit after reading the book is awesome! I personally want to be added to that success! I will continue reading tomorrow and hope to throw away the butts by the end of the week....Oh! He does NOT suggest cutting down or throwing cigarettes out...according to my daughter, by the end of the book you toss them away and never pick up another one...Erin is doing GREAT and NO CRAVINGS!! or withdrawls...I will certainly come on and "brag" when I no longer have this addiction!

Then this week....while hopefully I'm finding a monitor...I will find the book also!! I'm hoping it will help my husband too!

Let me know if this author comes out with a book on losing weight!!!! I'd definately order one after hearing about his sucess rate on smoking!!! Can you imagine reading a book and by the end of it being the reasonable size that you would like to be? Of course, I'd probably be reading it for 10 years to get to that size!!!!

You might have something there! The Easy way to Lose Weight! I sure wish they had a book like that!
