Well, I'm not an attorney, but I am an engineer & I worked full time. Went back to work when each of our girls were 2 months old. It's never easy. In our case, we hired someone to come into our home and care for our girls, clean, cook, run errands. We were very fortunate in that the person we hired was wonderful. She took the girls to the library, read to them, colored with them, took them to the doctor when they were sick. When I got home, everything was clean, the clothes were washed, supper was ready. All we had to do was eat, put the dishes in the dishwasher and have quality time.
As a professional, hopefully you will be able to afford this as well. It was really not a whole lot more expensive than daycare for two children, and I would highly recommend it. We paid for her to take pediatric first aid and CPR classes, just in case. When the girls both started school full time, we could no longer justify the expense of fulltime housekeeper and private school, and by this time, our caregiver had married and had a child, so she started caring for children in her home and picked our girls up from school each day for us & we picked them up at her house after work. Hope this helps you. This is what worked for us. Don't know how we could have done two careers any other way. Wish you much success with your studies. Keep striving to reach your goals. |
