School and Interview!

Well, I did it! I signed up for my Phlebotomy class yesterday!! I am very excited about this. As I had told you...I have been looking for a job since May of last year and nothing yet...I am so discouraged! I have had a few interviews and only heard back from a couple of them...seems like people just don't care to let you know one way or the other...I had applied for a job with the MSPCC a few months back(through a temp agency) but, they direct hired someone else. I re-applied a couple of weeks ago for a part-time position (at MSPCC) that they have available and I am getting an interview this Thursday!! I really hope this works out for me...this way I can still go to school! (school starts February 27th). Cross your fingers ladies!! I will let you know how it goes!

Congrats on the interview, keeping my fingers crossed for you!

I remember many, many years ago, whenever I applied for a position, I was always contacted either way. Now it seems they just don't want to bother and seem annoyed when you call back to check on the position. It's a shame that common courtesy has obviously left the workforce.

You are so right Janet! I can certainly understand, that they can't return calls to everyone that has filled out applications but, if you have been interviewed they should at least have the courtesy to let you know one way or the other...I just don't understand people..I had 1 interview (think I told you guys) that they called me in for another one...I would have bet my life that I had the job...They told me they were going to call me the next day....NO call...so I called them...No return call...I called them the next day...Never returned my call...they get your hopes up just to let you down...I really do hope this one comes through for me.

Thanks Janet!

People don't like delivering bad news. If they call they know they may have to deal with people asking why they weren't hired, and no one wants to deal with that. The reasons are sometimes hard to verbalize. I'm not saying they should not call. They definitely should, but these are some of the reasons they do not. Plus, sometimes they think if you were really interested, you would call. Personnel issues and life are not easy.

All crossables crossed for you! I hope you get the job so you can work while you go to school. That would be great!

My interview went great! I am not getting my hopes up though...The last interview I had, they led me to believe I had the job..They never called to let me know when to start and never returned my calls...I was so down after that so...I am just going with the flow on this one..(although it did go very well...trying not to get to excited!!) They are supposed to let me know their decision by the middle to end of next week...wish me luck girls!!

Thanks for all your positive thoughts!

B~

Think positive and tell yourself all the reasons why you felt you deserved that job and were qualified for it.

Don't waste emotions on your worries of not getting it...You know in your heart you deserve that job. Again, remain positive.
