Kansas Tornados

I just wanted to post and say I hope all our members here that live in Kansas are safe and that loved ones were not hurt or in danger. Prayers going out to those effected by those horrible storms.

I live in Kansas, but was in Texas when Greensburg was hit. Greensburg is west of Wichita and I live east of Wichita so my family was safe. They did have a lot of rain while I was gone and the river that's not far from the house is pretty high and we're suppose to get more rain.

I'm glad you were there when it all happened. Are you very near the river? Is it anything you need to worry about?

I don't have any family members that live in that direction so there's nothing to worry about there. We do have a high school teacher whose Mother lived in Greensburg and is alright. The high school girls are doing some fund raisers to give her some money.

As for the river, it's not a problem for us now. My daughter and I both live up on a hill, but my son and his family live where it can flood. Before we moved here we had flood water in our yard several times. My kids always loved it when it flooded but once I was REALLY worried, but it didn't get into the house (however we had very little ground showing!). It's so nice to not have to worry about it anymore.

Diana, so glad that you are safe!!!!! It's a horrible thing to have happen, an entire city destroyed and everyone losing so much.

Does anyone know how far Arkansas is from Kansas? Im getting a bit worried about Sheryl, i mailed her last weekend, and i havent heard back from her, which is not like her, she usually keeps track of her emails. Last time i heard from her, she told me, rain, and storms were heading their way!

Sheryl is about 4 hours from me here in Kansas. I saw some family of mine from her area over the weekend and everything was fine with them there. Maybe her computer's down or maybe she's busy.

I've noticed she hasn't been around too. I hope everything is good with her. This is the only thing bad about these forums. You get so close to someone emotionally and they live so far away. I do hope she is okay.
