So glad you got her back safe and sound. We also had good news this week my daughter who lives near me has a loverly black and white cat eight months old, well back April he went missing we searched put up posters nothing so now in July gave up on seeing him again. When out of the blue had a call from a vet 30 miles away someone had been feeding him for a few days and decided to take him to the vet to see if he was chipped, so am very pleased to say he is back safe and sound, my three year old grandaughter asked him if he had a nice holiday

Thanks ladies

I've got her home and she's none the worse for wear.
Since I had to pick her up at the vets, I asked if they'd give her an exam for me, so got that done too. They were impressed by what good shape she's in, said she doesn't look or act her age. I had to laugh... on the chart it said "HYPER Purebred Choco Lab female" lol They'd estimated her at 3 yrs old.

On the way to the vet I picked up a choke chain to stake her out with since I do NOT want a repeat of this little expedition... a prong collar so she quits trying to jerk me off my feet when on a leash, and a heavy 3 foot long leash so I can keep good control on the girls.

It's sad that they've obviously not been taught anything. IN the house they think nothing of jumping on the countertops... knocking lamps, stands, etc over. They're terrible for jumping on people, etc. I've got them both sitting on command now and they've greatly improved in not jumping on me... but I'd like to just shake the previous owner and ask her WHF she was thinking not training these dogs to be civilized at a much younger age! Even a hyper dog can be taught basic manners, and without it their life expectancy is reduced considerably because not everyone is as much of a sucker as I am and willing to take on maniacs this size.

Behaving as they do, they're almost impossible to do anything but chain or kennel. I don't like that life for a dog, but it's all they seem to know. How sad.

Compared to Moses who is gentle, knows to stay off furniture, was taught not to jump on anyone, will sit, lay down, come, shake, and so on, they're just insane. I have to drive with a rolled up newspaper in my right hand to shake at the labs to keep them from jumping over the seat and into my lap while I drive! Moses will sit and watch out the window and never touch me in the car. He's just a yr old and I can take him anywhere... because I put in the time to teach him.

That's all it takes. So now that I've vented... time to find some lunch. I'm ravenous after my busy morning.

Oh Tink - how scary. Don't you go through hard things without our support again!
I'm sure you'll have them under control sooner than later.

Highlans,
What great news about the cat!

Judy, she got lose but came TO the house so I got her in right away. That's what I'm trying to teach them... by pampering the heck out of them when they are in. LOL

It's just so frustrating that they've been taught nothing... they're both learning now and are eager to please, so I know it's not that they're incapable of behaving, they just haven't been taught.
