Janet, I have a megallan gps, with my job I need it for I get lost easily. You don't pay a mtly. fee you buy it outright. I assume you are interested in buying one. I do love it for it takes you from point A to your destination. Sometimes it takes the long way, I don't know if you are familar with mapquest. It uses the same method I have noticed. If you make a wrong turn it does reroute , and you arrive to the destination its amazing. They come with computer ware that you can update from your computer but to be honest with you I am not computer savy. So I just program from zipcode and type in shortest distance. There are several options.
I have my megallan <Maggie> I call her. lol for two years they have come out with smaller models , and if I were you I would shop around. They say Tom Tom is good and there are many others. I am sure they have the same features, check for prices and look on ebay a few friends have purchased theirs on there...Read up on the different brands basically they are all the same. Any other questions if I can help just ask.... Hope this helps. |

I have the Megellan Road 800 I brought it in Coscto, don't know if you have this chain store by you. I paid $500 a few years ago. It is cheaper now but there are newer models.

Janet, I don't have any advice, but I just wanted to say thanks for posting this! I've been wanting to get one so badly because I'll be working for the DCS soon and I HAVE to have one or I'll get lost! LOL. I'm excited to hear what everyone says.
Gina, thanks for the information!
