Oh Angie, it stinks that you're suffering. I hope you feel better soon.
Sheryl, I hope 2008 is a MUCH better year for you too! I'm allergic to seafood but would attend just to meet you in person Janet! I think I'll be home alone tonight which is fine. Joel got his room pretty much emptied out and the stuff hauled. Katie has my 2 grandbabies and they're being little terrors for her, so I nixed the taking them out since I refuse to reward bad behavior and they've REALLY had a round of it today. I'm going to visit them for a little while, but the little shopping trip they'd been looking so forward to isn't going to happen. I think I'm just going to enjoy the silence and say a prayer of thanks for what I hope is shaping up to be a much more peaceful home to start the new year out in.

Angie, I hope that you start feeling better. I don't like it when you don't feel well. You definitely need to go back to the doctor as soon as you can.
Sheryl, I hope that your problems all get taken care of quickly and wonderfully very quickly in the new year so you can enjoy the rest of it. Tink, I'm so happy that things are working out so wonderfully for you. It's been a long time coming but I'm sure that it'll be worth the wait. I hope that you and your husband really get closer with all the time alone that you're going to have! Janet, I sure wish that you lived closer because I'd be there in a flash!!!! And not just for the seafood!!!!!! As for the going to bed at 9:00 if I were there we'd be having soooo much fun that you wouldn't want to go to be that early!!!!!

We went to a friends house. They had all been drinking since 5 when we got there at 8 so they were pretty drunk & obnouxous. so my husband & i and another party goer that arrived late, played cards most of the night. There was a lot of drama. One of the drunk party goers was carring the hostess (who knows why) & dropped her into a wall. She began wailing & her drunk husband wouldn't let sober me take a look at her to make sure she was okay. This was at about 11:30; so my husband & I cleaned up their kitchen & put everything away. Waited til the ball dropped & then headed home. We drove our other friend to our house because she didn't feel she could drive, because of the amount she had to drink & the weather (8 inches had fallen while we were there). She crashed at our house. Every year at their house is an adventure to say the least, but at least the rest of the drunken party goers spend the night there so they were safe.

That is 3/4 of the reason we quit going OUT to celebrate. Don't know why people have to get so drunk out of their minds to enjoy something. I just don't get it. I drank one beer with my seafood supper and that was it. The other 1/4 reason is because I don't want to be out on the road with these people behind the wheel of a car. I'll just keep my family home where it's safe.
Sorry didn't mean to preach...there are other places you could go without dealing with drunks all evening. Maybe invite a few people to your place.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!
Angie and Sheryl, I hope 2008 has you both feeling better. Janet - I should have come over and then skipped over to Mandy's for good food. I stayed home too - I never go out New Year's Eve - too many drunks on the road. I dinner plans with a friend, but realized I really didn't want to drive. She didn't mind. I fell asleep and lucky me!....I woke up at a quarter to 12! I watched the ball come down,l welcomed in 2008 and went back to sleep happy. I was so pleased to see Dick Clark - he looks and sounds a lot better. I'm glad the media realized that you don't have to be young and perfect - you can even be disabled and still be on TV. It was really nice to see that.
