What a slap in the face !!!!

Oh i am so mad right now, i just got off the phone with my husband, and he called his office to inquire about his yearly raise. and he got a whopping 1/2% raise...
Oh my God... The payroll clerk said it was in last pay, i guess we didn't even notice the extra 1.00 a week he got..
He said come spring time he's getting out of there...
I just need to vent.. He was with that company for 13 years, he didn't get a raise last year cause they moved him up to a foreman and gave him a nice raise and all the extra work and working weekends and out of town this is the thanks he gets.
I told him to this is the last time he is going out of town for this company, let them find another person to go, tell them you have a family now and can't go..
Oh i am so mad right now i can just scream......

I'm a little confused...as usual...lol. Does he love his job? Wasn't the promotion a good thing? Things are tight with everyone almost everywhere. I do hope you can be happy with what you have now...maybe a higher raise will be coming soon.

Sorry - he did get moved up with the company but he was also promised a raise at the end of the year to, so last year he didn't get a raise and this year he only got 1/2 %. which is a slap in the face, knowing that your boss is putting a million dollar addition on to his already million dollar house.. So i don't think his boss is suffering to much... He does love his job, but i think it is time to move on, he was already offered a job come spring time making a couple dollars more an hour, so say a pray for us, that he makes the right choice...

I sure will pray for you both! It's hard knowing exactly what direction to go. Has he talked with his boss about this? Never know it might help....nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Yes he did talk to his boss, it's his boss's wife that does the payroll.. the place where he works is like a soap opera, his boss's wife is all pissed off because her Husband (my husbands boss, the owner) was just caught with one of the secretary's. and that's why his wife is getting a million dollar addition on there house, and he also bought her a new Jaguar.. Must me nice, i guess he's kissing her butt so she don't leave him cause she'll get 1/2 the company, that's probably why everyone got a crappy raise.. it all went to the wife this year... its a soap opera... crazy.. i want him out of there... I did have to laugh a little that was a very expensive piece of a**. Hope that secretary was worth it... i guess this stuff happens more often than people think...

it's to crazy for me, my husband justs laughs he said its not the first time he cheated on his wife and its not going to be the last time. i remember a couple years ago, my husband's boss called for him to get his crew together, (it was like 2 am) to come to the office.. So he left and when he got home, they had to hurry up and patch all the holes in his boss's office and paint it before they opened, i guess again one of the girls he was messing with had a boyfriend and found out about it and come to the office after his boss and they got into a big fight...
soap opera.. oh boy i can tell you story's about his boss.

Haley, I would have been pretty upset with a raise like that too! That's not hardly even worth mentioning! I had a friend that got a Christmas bonus of $23 and some cents. I would be embarassed giving a bonus like that! If your husband's work place is like a soap opera I wouldn't blame him for wanting to find another job.

He said he's leaving in March, he's taking the other job he got offered, he said it's about 2.50 more an hour to start.. so i'll be praying that he's not making a mistake by leaving... God will lead him...

Thank you, Janet, i been so upset all week cause of this, hopefully this new company he goes with treats him alot better, he said sometime in March there going to call him, this will be a good move i think cause now he'll be in the Iron's worker Union, and his wages will be up to Union rate, and they can't mess with him if they send him out of town like his company does now.
I acually figured out his raise he go 1/2 percent of his wages = .12 cents
and extra .96 cents a day, an extra 4.80 a week after taxes is 2.88.
that is so frustrating, it wasn't even worth the company doing the paperwork..
I have to stop beating myself up about this and move on... God will lead him, better things are waiting for him, you just have to go out and find them...

You know what they say Haley - one door closes and another one opens.

It sounds like a good thing that he's moving to another job. I have to say that in this economy, having another job to move to sounds like he's got an angel on his shoulder!

I'd let it go if I were you and just assume that it was meant to be.

Until he's able to start working for this other company, I do have a suggestion. I wanted to stay home with my son so I bought most all his clothes and a few toys from a few months old till about kindergarten at garage sales. Most of them were like new since they usually outgrow them at that age before they wear them out. It really helped on our budget.

Thanks Janet, but well be ok, i get Micah's clothes at JC Penney's when they have sales and cut out the coupon in the Sunday paper, so i really do save alot there..
Plus i am so picky about his clothes... and my husband and i wear jeans & steel toes to work so i'm not to worried about us, 1/2 the time i wear his sweatshirts..
