No way I'd use one either. We have the old fashioned 2 handled kind and will stick with that.

Hubby says he's used one without any problem, even used one by himself. The thing is to stand far enough back and if the soil is especially firm, you may need to use some water in the hole to soften it. Be careful with the throttle, don't push it too hard.

We're near the coast in the Lone Star State, and the soil around here is not too rocky.

yea.. well we went to lowes to look at the post diggers and those look safer.. Im too scared that IF it JERKS, I'll let go... so hopefully my arms won't fall off with the post digger ..

My hubby and son have rented these a couple of times and had no problems.
