Uh oh! Rick's going to get a "you must practice safe driving why don't you listen to me you're going to give me a heart attack if you don't get killed first" speech. Put lots of guilt in there, Janet. How your blood pressure was so high, you had to lie down for 1/2 an hour. Threats about the car keys are good for a little while, until they figure out that you don't mean it.

Talk to him and invade his space for at least 20 minutes each time he messes up.
They hate that. That's how I handled my high school boys. I sat on a stool and when they saw me hook my toe under the bottom, they knew I was going to get up.
Those who knew me, stopped what they were doing and I rarely had to really get up. God help them if I did! Talk non-stop. It drives boys crazy!

I also love Diana's idea, although we should wait until we see how much fun Sheryl has. Rick might love it to.

When Jessie got her license, I gave it to God, and my Mother, who had passed away years ago.

He'll be fine, and you will be too, but I don't envy you these next couple of years.

He's doing good. I did mention yesterday that he was driving too fast and he got mad. I just told him that if he couldn't stand the heat...to hand over the keys. The car is in my name and he knows it. He also knows I don't make threats. If I say the car is sold...it's sold. He just better slow it down and drive safely.
