Start with a half an hour daily of getting your heart racing along with heavy breathing, that is a fine start!

Janet, don't know how I missed this thread. One of the times that I have been in really good shape, my only exercise was walking. If you have a treadmill and can setup a TV or something to keep your mind occupied while you walk, you can accomplish a lot by just doing that. Once you get used to walking at least two miles a day, you can begin to raise the incline to increase your workout. If you walk 4 miles a day at a slight incline, you can almost eat anything you want and lose weight. At least that was my experience. It's hard to find the time to walk, but if you are home during the day, you could possibly work in some walking while Oprah is on or something.
I enjoy going to a gym and being around other people and using their equipment and going to classes, but the travel takes time and the gym takes money. You can accomplish a lot at home with a treadmill. Wishing you continued success!!!!!! Diana's post of the desk treadmill setups was very interesting, and may be another option.

I don't really have the ambition to go to a gym. If I lived in town it might be more motivating, but having to drive to town and then back...it's just too inconvenient. I'm planning on walking on my treadmill as soon as I get the puppies out of my room. Probably next week, they'll be 6 weeks old then.
This weekend the weather is suppose to be really decent (40's, low 50's) so I may go walking outside.
