i am starting to hate Lowes.
Most of you know that i been slowly remolding my house, got a little cute fixer upper 3 years ago.
anyways Lowes is driving me crazy, everytime i order something there it gets screwed up. i just ordered a custom blind for my bedroom and my extension were not in the box, now i have a 400.00 blind that i can't return or hang up. Now i have to spend my lunch break at work today and run down Lowes and and try to get an extension, my husband even drew the girl a picture of what we wanted and told the girl we were mounting them on the wall not on the window frame, that we needed extensions, she said they come with extensions. well i hate to tell her they don't !! everytime i start a house project it gets screwed up.. we even drew the girl a picture..

I'm sorry that you're having trouble with Lowe's. It seems like any more all business's care about is making money and less about customer satisfaction. It's very fustrating!!!

I feel your pain, but I like our Lowe's. They've always been helpful on ordering things. It does seem that most of the employees there are in the more mature age bracket!

i know, i have to pick up my new doors Saturday or Sunday, can't wait to see how they screwed this order up, it took me 4-5 days just to order them, they kept calling my giving me prices for steel doors when i wanted fiberglass one, then i told them i wanted them custom painted white, they called back and asked me if i want the door jams painted to????? why wouldn't i if i'm going thru this trouble to get the doors painted, i was like YES !! that will be 50.00 extra, so.. it was a nightmare... i think i'm going to Home Depot next time.. like i said before my little house projects turns into headaches cause of Lowes..

We don't have Lowes... but have Menards which is very similar to it.
We have spent a LOT of money there over the years in building 2 entire houses and remodeling a couple more. What we finally decided was that the savings in cash really wasn't worth the headache in the lack of quality and selection that they offer. You literally have to stand and pick through all the lumber or you end up with knots, bows, twists, and so on that make it unusable for a decent project. We learned that the hard way... when we had them deliver several thousand dollars worth of lumber on a truck and had to figure out how to haul a bunch of it back to exchange. Now we buy locally in a small lumber yard and pay more, but at least we get good quality stuff.

i just small stuff at Lowes, since my husband is in construction and my sister husband we go to places that only deal with contractors and get great prices and great material, hopefully next year i'll have enough money in the savings to get my kitchen done, it's just a long process, were trying to pay cash for everything and you know how hard that is, and we do alot of things ourselves, which saves alot of money, i can't tell you how many doors we hung, floors we ripped out, staining new doors, painting, i learned to do alot of things, and to tell you the truth i really enjoyed it, it looks so nice when your done and take a step back and look at and say i did that... feels good. i watch flip this house all the time on TV and get great ideas for our house, and great money saving tips too..

Our city doesn't have a Lowe's but Lafayette does, it's about 25 minutes from here. They have a Lowe's, Menard's and a Home Depot. I don't see how anyone can afford Home Depot. What a rip!!
I like Menard's the best and then Lowe's. I find you have to look through all of the wood and posts at all the lumber yards to get the quality you want. I'll never leave it up to the stores.

For us that kind of stuff is really fustrating not only because you can't get things finished up but it means another trip to Wichita, which is 100 miles!! Be glad that your Lowes is close to you.
