This thread is such a great idea. My positive for the day is that after I was essentially wiped out by Hurricane Katrina, my mom took me in and let me bring all of my pets, even though she hates cats. Granted Katrina was a couple of years ago, but her help is one of those things for which I am continually grateful. I love my mom more than words can express.

My positive for the day is that my husband Jim has a 7 days free of trigeminal neuralgia pain. I personally believe God's healing hand has touched him.

Dobie--That's great news!

Janet--My mother drives me crazy, too, but I figure the crazy keeps me from taking all of the wonderful stuff for granted.

You're absolutely right. I think our mothers definitely keep us grounded on all levels.

I don't know what this is Dobie, but it's sounds awful. I hope he continues to be pain free. I believe God never ever gives us more than we can handle. Your husband must be a very strong man.

It's described as being hit with a bolt of lightning. Pain shoots up the side of his face - for weeks at a time he is only able to drink fluids because eating triggers it. He developed it last year after being run over by a car while cycling. It used to be called the "suicide disease" because so many people couldn't take the pain and went to extreme measures.
I've had people on the Prayabout website add him to their prayers, and I really feel like it's helping! I'm very hopeful that the continued prayers will restore him to better health.

Dobie,
I'm sending Prayers to you for your husbands recovery. I know personally what it's like to see a loved one in pain, please know that my heart goes out to you both.

Thanks a lot - all prayers are very appreciated! This being the positive thread - I REALLY want to emphasize how wonderful prayers have been so far - a month ago I couldn't have imagined 7 pain free days for him.

I'm happy that you explained it to me. This way I can pray for him also. Prayers do work miracles, but please remember the answer to our prayers may not always be what we want, but what our Lord and Savior feels is best.

I'm so sorry you were affected by Katrina!!! It's nice you and your Mom are close and she was able to help you.

Honestly don't know what I'd do without mine...no matter how crazy she drives me...LOL

Kat that is great news!!! I know you can do it if you REALLY want to! I smoked my last one on August 30, 2007. There are times I still feel like it, but I will NEVER light another one...EVER!

So dear friend... I will keep you in my prayers that you will be successful.

Thank you Angie. Like I said there are times when I would (or think I would love) to smoke just one more, but I won't let that ever happen. I like being smoke free and not worry about where I am and if I have enough smokes to last and so on and so forth. Not only bad healthwise, but a big hassle.
