I adopted a little 8mo Maltese girl and am so tempted to breed her (for just one litter) to my Yorkie boy (Yankee) when she's older. Would the pups be MALKIES? I've never seen a Maltese/Yorkie mix, but can you imagine how lovable that would be?! My daughter has a 2yo Bichon girl that we keep talking about mating with my Yankee. Guess that would be a BICKIE?

Some people call them Morkies or Yorktese. Malkies is a cute name too though!

Awww how sweet! You will have to post some pictures as soon as they get here. You know they say that mixed breed dogs are healthier than purebred dogs. I have been thinking of breeding Diesel with a Shih-Tzu. I think they would make adorable babies! I am not fond of the small nose a Shih-Tzu so I think mixing the two would just be perfect. Congrats!

Well Bless your heart! I am sorry that I hold myself to a higher standard and to think I was once called a BYB. I'm out of here.

congrats Kat!! give maggie kisses from Belle and I !!

as for the "larger Yorkie"-->the standard calls for 4-7 lbs, so she is in fact within the standard... "larger" would be like 15-20lbs i say!

I hope that some of these responses have been tongue in cheek - and that some thought is given to the welfare of the mothers and that the puppies will end up in good homes. As a person involved in rescue for many years, I've seen the sad consequences of people breeding dogs just to see what the puppies would like - only to drop 4 or 5 pups at the rescue's door because homes could not be found.

It seems some people are posting some outlandish things just to try to annoy others - why don't people behave more like adults and if you don't like someone, address it directly instead of engaging in schoolyard behavior.
