Trash service.. or lack of

For the 4th week in a row my trash did not get picked up. First week I thought maybe I didn't get it out early enough.. 2nd week I called, left a message.. 3rd week I called and talked to the wife, she was very nice and felt bad about it, told me their regular driver was off on sick leave.

Ok. I am a nice person, didn't have a hissy fit.. told them no problem, actually found out they also have a 'pay by bag' service, signed up for that. I pay $61.00 every 3 months for service. Rarely have more than one bag per week, many weeks I have no trash to put out since I recycle, which really cuts down on trash. So i figure I pay around $10.00 per bag at the $61.00 rate. Changing to the pay by bag service, I will be paying around $4.00 a bag total. Yearly savings of $164.00. Very happy with that!!! Will be starting the new service May 1st.

But today, 4th week on old service, no pick up once again!!
I made another phone call. Again, they were very nice, so sorry... where again do I live??? I have used their service for 22 years, 8 years at this address!!

So I asked them kindly, will I get a credit for the month of service I paid for, and never received? Her answer? Well, we will pick up all the trash I have accumulated over the past month.. so basically no. I am not happy.
I don't want to change carriers, I have been happy with them until this past month.

I really think though, that they should extend me another month of service. After all, I paid for it, they are the ones who messed up.

If you still have all your trash and they pick it up then you're probably out of luck getting money or extended service, but if they don't...then yeah...they should do what it takes to make their long time customer happy.

It sounds to me like you should be credited for a month. After all you've had to store all the trash that they haven't picked up and it's been inconvenient to drag all the sacks out every week! What ever happened to keeping a customer happy?
