Before I Was A MoM!

Haley, I have to think about this one.
For sure, I'd have taken the words, "I'm to busy right now" out of my vocabulary.
I would have stopped whatever I was doing to listen to their little stories, instead of talking on the phone and worrying so much about how the house looked.

I think this little poem says it all:

Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,

Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,

Hang out the washing, make up the bed,

Sew on a button and butter the bread.

Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?

She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I’ve grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,

Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.

Dishes are waiting and bills are past due

Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo

The shopping’s not done and there’s nothing for stew

And out in the yard there’s a hullabaloo

oh Kat, that was beautiful! Those are the rules i'm trying to live by, just yesterday i was doing the dishes, Micah came flying into the kitchen and hugged my legs, i didn't get the dishes done til this morning, they sat all night, didn't care on bit, i played with Micah instead !!!

Of all my lofty dreams, goals, and aspirations, a MOM is definitely where I want to be.....It is absolutely how mind blowing it is when your "prospective" of the world changes soooo significantly by a life event......

Really anything does that....job change, death, divorce, marriage, baby, sickness, failure, whatever....gotta love life!

This poem says it all.....

Not that I Ever kept an immaculate house....just a lived in look, was fine for me....now really it is a kids home with parents renting... ha ha ha

Excuse This House
Some houses try to hide the fact
That children shelter there.
Ours boasts of it quite openly,
The signs are every where.

For smears are on the windows,
Little smudges on the doors;
I should apologize I guess
For toys strewn on the floor.

But I sat down with the children
And we played and laughed and read,
And if the doorbell doesn't shine,
Their eyes will shine instead.

For when at times I'm forced to
Choose the one job or the other,
I want to be a housewife...
But first I'll be a mother.

I love it when Micah sees or hears or tastes something for the first time, just to see his little face, and that belly laugh its priceless !!!!
