I forgot to mention Marilyn, that here in Frankfort, we had a wonderful Mayor. I graduated with him. He looked the part, did an excellent job and was beaten this year by a guy who has no clue what to do. He even said that now he needed to learn what a Mayor does. He graduated a year behind us.

He's been in office since January and still not sure what a Mayor is suppose to do. There have been so many write-ups in the paper about his inability to run Frankfort. He only ran because his friends talked him into it. He's not a social type of guy and has been cursed because he is not attending functions that our Mayors have always held dear to helping Frankfort. He didn't even own a suit and said he wasn't buying one. Now come on....to get businesses to move here, he's going to have to do better than his flannel shirts.

We really need grass root type of people in office, local and national, but we need to stay on top the grass....don't elect the roots....LOLOL.

I wish someone with more intelligence than our Mayor, but yet still be 'real' people would run for office, but that's not been done to my knowledge.

I agree with staying on the top of the grass as you say!!!! Sounds like your mayor will be there for one term. Hopefully the good one will want the job back.

I think everyone else is afraid of this thread. Oh, well, it's been nice chatting with you!!

I hope they are not afraid of this thread, and it's been nice chatting with you too....LOL

I must tell you I am leaning more for 'your guy', but until recently I really didn't have either one as my choice, but the stack is getting taller for one, smaller for the other. I'm still listening, reading and will make my decision on May 6 here in Indiana. I vote just one mile north of my house at a very nice church.

I'm not afraid of your thread, Marilyn. Of course, I'm for the same guy, so it's pretty easy for me.

This is such an important election! I feel that he is more "real" than the other two. To me, they are such politicians - smiling at the right moment and saying whatever they need to to get votes.

Don't get me wrong. Not one of these candidates are bad at all. The only real problem I have with McCain is that I'm personally against the war, and he plans to continue it.

I knew our Judy wouldn't run from this thread...LOL.

It really is nice hearing other people thoughts when it's done in a civilized manner. I do try to keep an open mind on most things and I've been known to do an about face when I've learned better, but there are some things I just can't...so I try (key word TRY) to just not say anything.

I think everyone has done a pretty good job of that here at 4WT.
