That's very possible Marilyn. What ever it is, it's really sick. They pick college athletes who are some of the best students and somehow lure them away from their friends just long enough to get by with it. It's happened so much that I've asked my son and his male friends not to go party in the college towns near us. They're all the "right age" and I don't want them to be mistaken for college students and end up in the river.

My own son is turning 22 this month... and most of his friends are in their early 20's... so yes, it does worry me!

Oh that is scary, tink. Do you think he will listen to you and take it seriously or is he still in the "It won't happen to me" stage?

Thank God Joel's not much of a drinker. When he does drink he usually does it at home and invites his friends over and collects their keys as they pour their first one.
He had a DUI just over 3 yrs ago and luckily he learned his lesson.

He actually called me from the county jail about an hr away at 3 am and said "Mom, I'm in jail for a DUI.... don't suppose you'd want to come bail me out?" I said "You supposed right."
So he sat in jail till his hearing at 8 am and was led by 4 armed guards from his cell to the courtroom in shackles, an orange jumpsuit and flip flops 3 sizes too big. He said he was mortified. LOL Was the best thing that they could have done to him. To my knowledge he hasn't done it since.
He lost his license for a yr, and paid $2,700 worth of fines and court costs. I don't know which hurt more.
Some of his friends haven't learned that lesson yet though, so I do worry.

so alcohol has been found in each of the bodies? Sometimes they just like to make that assumption because of the age.

Yes, they've all been drinking... some huge amounts. One tested .4 something... he should have been dead from just that!
