The condo news

I'm really thinking about this townhouse! I'm really excited. I have to really make sure it feels right in my bones, if you know what I mean.

Will they let you go over and just 'take it all in' alone? Let you kind of soak it up if you will. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an easy decision.

Judy, you sound so excited about this new part of your life! To me, it sounds perfect for what you are looking for and wanting, but in the end it is YOU that has to be satisfied.. you will know if this will be your new home.

When I bought my 'now' home, I wasn't looking, had my own home I was buying.. a friend showed me the listing for this house and I called a friend/realtor and asked to see it. Walked thru it one time and made an offer. I was lucky, my first home sold within a week and here I am!

Bottom line, I knew from the time I walked in that this was my home. I have been here now for 8 years and still know I made the right decision.

You will also make the right decision. For you.

I can definitely see myself snuggled up with the fireplace on and the dogs running around. It will be so beautiful in the winter, the fall will be exquisite, and spring and summer amazing!

I'll have plenty of things I enjoy to do. There are yoga places, I'm sure I can find a pottery class in one of the more artsy towns, I can take a class, or go to workshops or seminars at the college at Oneonta. I'm sure there are also plenty of things to do that I haven't thought of yet.

I'll be close to my daughter and my babies. I can help them grow up, and visit Jessie when I want. We can go to their school functions together, and maybe the gym in her town.

My only question is will I be happy with a transient population. Only 12 people live there full-time at this point. There are a lot of people who bought homes as weekend second homes (nice and rich! Maybe some single men!). A lot of the homes are rented out by the owners as vacation homes.

I would like to have some people there I know and am friendly with. I'm not looking for people to visit me and hang out in my house. Truthfully, I hate that unless it's a really good friend. I'm looking for the kind of neighbors you know, and ask them how they feel, how was your granddaughter's graduation, how does your brother feel, and so on.

I have decided! I am going up next week. There are 2 I really liked, so I'm going to choose which one, and then I'm going to tell my realtor to make an offer.

Jessie is coming with me to help me decide. My realtor spoke to someone who lives there full time (another realtor). There are 12 year round owners, but a lot of seasonal and weekend owners, so there are definitely people I'll get to know.

I was suppose to go yesterday, but my vet told me I couldn't leave Gracie alone. She has a stuffed nose and is on antibiotics so I was going to leave them at the vets overnight. Joanne (one of the workers there) told me absolutely not! I must stay with her overnight until she recovers. I was laughing when I hung up. What a flower she is!

I am so excited! It's so beautiful there, and the townhouses are amazing.
