What they told me to do was lean back and keep the edge of the board out of the water, until there was enough speed for me to stand up. Easier said than done! The board is huge so there's a lot of resistance against the water. I started out with my arms by my sides and would end up with my hands rubbing against the board at my feet. My arms aren't strong enough to pull against that much weight! I just got up and my whole body is aching today! Oh well, I'm sure I will try it again sometime. Kyle told me it's just like snowboarding, but on water. Well, right now I'd rather be snowboarding ![]()

Pope, it looks like you really enjoyed the rides. My daughters love the Zipper and they will make them spin and spin. Don't ever ride with one of them!!!! I've never really liked the rides, even the farris wheel. My stomach just can't handle them.
Lindsey, it looks like you had a great time at the lake! My family likes to ski and I did too when I was younger. My kids all ski. My son even skied barefoot one time!!! I was impressed! The other day it flooded and my son had his jet ski out and the family was skiing behind it in the field next to his house!!! That's a sight to see!

Was the movie REALLY worth seeing? My son would like to go see it, but the reviews I've heard say it's very disappointing. Give a review now and what you really thought of it.

What Janet said... I love Steve Carrell and everything he does, but I'm worried that it's one of those movies where the previews show all the good parts!

I really liked it. Not even Lindsey, if anything the trailers did it no justice what so ever....
I had my doubts because of some of the trailers they had shown for it, but I had faith cause I am a huge Steve Carell fan. Where can you go wrong with Alan Arkin? (I recommend Wait Until Dark with Audrey Hepburn, The Slums Of Beverly Hills, Catch 22, Little Miss Sunshine) I've always found Dwayne Johnson (The Rock) to have been entertaining when he opens his mouth lol That was YEARS ago, when I would actually turn wrestling on once in a while... Well, I have never seen the original series but we treated my dad to a night at the movies cause he's been strapped for cash lately. He has, and he really enjoyed the movie too. Not only were there some parts of it that had me chuckling so hard, they brought me to tears...it was also action packed with all the pretty eye candy explosions and fight scenes. Which normally isn't my thing *shrug* I'm a comedy girl if not comedy, usually a good intense drama/thriller. Alan Arkin plays the chief. Dwayne Johnson and Anne Hathaway are spy agents for CONTROL. Steve Carell is an analyst who deciphers chatter, he of course aspires to be an agent. He takes the test yearly but fails one way or another. (IE. He used to be over weight, I got a couple kicks out of the jokes they used towards that twist) No one really thinks he is ready or capable. When CONTROLS agents start getting assassinated, it's a mystery as to who is the double agent that's tipping off the villains. Hence, Steve Carell finally being promoted to an agent because he is unrecognizable. The people they work with are hilarious. I don't know if I like the two "nerds" or the two "jerky agents" better. There is sort of a rivalry thing going on with the two groups at work. Even the group of villains known as "Chaos" are likable. Borat's agent is one of them, and another one is a huge Indian wrestler, The Great Khali. They get thrown a couple good lines/scenes as well. In my opinion and from what i could hear people saying as we were leaving, it is worth seeing on the big screen. ![]() Last edited by pope1982; 06-24-2008 at 05:28 AM. |
