I agree with Diana. She's right that the registry doesn't make the dog better, but it does make buyers a little more confident about the purchase. And even if it takes a whole day of travel, I think it would be worth it to you in the end for you to get what will be best for your program.

Either way, I know you'll make the right decision and that your new female will be perfect for you!

The second dog is registered, but with APRI which is a lesser known registry than AKC.
Right now I'm waiting for photos of the AKC female since I'm not about to drive that far without some idea of what she looks like.

I've also been offered a white mini poodle female, which peaked my interest until I learned she's only 10" tall at the shoulder which means technically she's a toy... which I can't use. If she'd have been 16" or more I'd have scooped her up in a heartbeat. I really want a moyen poodle stud, which means a standard bred to a mini... and could be used with lab females. Oh well, all in good time.
