Gracie Leigh went over the Rainbow Bridge

I lost my little baby girl, Gracie Leigh, yesterday. We are all heartbroken. Please pray for her, and my family.

I am at Jessie's house until Friday when the house closing takes place. Their 100 pound Malamute got her yesterday. I couldn't get him off her. I got her three times, and he grabbed her from me again and she died. I was laying on top of her to keep him off her, and felt her little heart still beating when he got her the last time. I think I tried to get up to get her to the vet right away when he got her that last time. I took her to the vet anyway, but she was gone.

My grandchildren all saw it, my daughter and son-in-law are heartbroken. They feel responsible, although it's not their fault. Mackenzie, my 11 year old dgd felt him pull Gracie away from her. She's horrified and heartbroken at the same time.

It felt like being in a nightmare, fighting to save her. We gave her a beautiful
burial yesterday. She's buried on my children's land, near the creek.

She's with her family and God now. The children will always be able to pray over her grave. We saw Jessie's priest and he blessed her little body. I asked him if dogs go to heaven, and he said they do. He said God takes care of all of his creatures. I was so grateful to him because that's not what they teach in Jessie's church.

I'm sorry for your sadness when you read this.

We're going to look for a new puppy right away. Gracie can never be replaced, but I know that depression will get me hard and a new puppy will keep it away.

I will always miss Gracie Leigh, and love her with all my heart. My sweet, precious, good little girl.

Oh, Judy, I can't imagine howyou must feel. I cried reading this thread. So very, very sorry for your loss. So hope you find the most perfect little girl to console you.

I spoke with Judy yesterday. My heart is just breaking for her. I tried to be strong for this wonderful lady, but at times I just had to let the tears fall. She is at her daughter's house as you know. Not sure if she'll get on their computer or not or wait until she gets moved.

She is so sad and worried about falling into a depression. She needs us ladies. I prayed for her a dozen times yesterday at least, please keep her in your prayers as I know you will. She is looking for another female to take care of and love. Not to replace Gracie Leigh, she loved her so much, but to keep her from getting down. Judy has so much love to give, if you know of a trusted breeder near her (or willing to ship) or within an 8 hour drive I think Jessie said, then please let her know or PM me so I can give her the information.
