My Story for Today!!!!
School here started yesterday. Bummer.
My daughter, Jaci, has been going in at 7:00 all week for volleyball practice and again later in the afternoon. This morning she got up and left for volleyball early enough that I wasn't up yet. I got up about 7:20 and had wandered into the living room and had just turned the TV on when the phone rang..........it was Jaci and she had forgotten her laptop (the school supplies one to every student) and her backpack and wanted me to bring them in to her. I'm thinking.....What?......I'm still in my pajamas, just woke up, and I don't have my Tahoe because my husband took it into town for his weekly breakfast with the guys!!!! Of course I had no option but to say yes to my sweet daughter!! (I may need to remind you that we live 6-7 miles from town so it's not easy for her to just pop in at home and get stuff.) As soon as I hung up the phone I ran to the bedroom and grabbed my carefully dropped clothes from yesterday and hurried and put them on..........I'm trying really hard not to think of all the wrinkles (I hated to put on clean clothes because I really needed a shower and, well..........you understand.) I ran and grabbed her laptop and backpack, my billfold and my phone and ran out the door. I got into my husband's farm pickup and well....................if you don't live on a farm there's just no way to describe it. The door wouldn't shut all the way so I slammed it..............I slammed it again...............I slammed it about 10 times and finally gave up, figuring that if it pops open while I'm driving at least I'll have a hold of the steering wheel to keep me in!!! I drove like a mad woman to town passing everyone and everything that got in my way because I can't remember if school starts at 8:00 or 8:05. I met my husband on his way home from town and I'm sure that he was wondering if that blur was his pickup with me driving it and why was I driving in so early? Sure enough, in a couple of minutes my phone rings and it's him wondering if that was me that he met. I explained why I was heading for town and he offered to let me have the Tahoe but I turned him down thinking that I've got to get to the school in a hurry. I think that I made it to town in record time and it was a good thing that the cops are hardly ever in my area or I'd be writing a different story!!!!! LOL Right before I pull up to the school I call Jaci to make sure that she's there to meet me and get her stuff but she doesn't answer her phone. I looked around for someone to carry her stuff into her but I didn't see anyone that I thought knew her. The thing that I was dreading was happening...............I'm going to have to go inside and find her!!! GREAT!!!!.....So here I am..........wrinkled clothes from yesterday, bed head because I didn't even stop to brush my hair, and teeth not brushed, looking like a wild woman, stepping into the commons area to find Jaci. Of course she's not where I can see her and I have to stand there for some time looking for her or, AT LEAST, one of her friends. Finally I found a table with her friends and asked them to give her her stuff........Mission accomplished!!!!! I'm sure that they all wondered what happened to Jaci's Mom!!!! I really needed to get some things from the grocery store but wasn't willing to leave them wondering about my sanity in there too!!!!! Awwww, the things that we do for our kids!!!!!

I kept thinking that this was going to be one funny story for 4WT!!! I forgot to add that the clothes that I wore were also too big but when I put them on yesterday I wasn't planning on being seen by anyone!!! I never did look in the mirror.......too afraid to!!!!!!
And, yes, I enjoyed my shower!!!!

Diana yep your a good mother... The things we do for our children. Your story reminds me of my adventure every morning driving my husband to the train station. I roll out of bed with funky hair and throw on shorts . In the winter its better I put my coat on over my pjs what a sight. I always pray that I don't get stopped lol.

Ha! Great story Diana!!
Also reminds me when my hubby decided to go somewhere with me. He had his pajamas on and we were only going a few blocks, he was staying in the car. You guessed it, someone hit us while we were just sitting at the busiest intersection in the area. Then they jumped out of their car and ran!!! So, that meant that we were at the intersection with the police for a couple of hours and my hubby in his pj's!! He'll never do that again!!! Diana, I've done the exact same thing too!

I guess that we all have some funny stories about getting out early in the morning in our pj's or yesterday's clothes!!!! I can remember when I was in grade school that my Mom traded driving us to school with a neighbor woman and she was almost always in her pj's and robe and barefooted when she drove us to school. My Mom was never dressed like that!!!!! I know that when the kids missed the bus that we'd often be chasing the bus and I'd be dressed in pj's and a robe!!!!! Praying that nobody saw me!!!!
Oh, and as soon as Jaci got home she let me know how thankful she was!!! She's a good girl with a crazy mom!!!!!!

It's nice that she thanked you! So many kids would have been mad that their mom showed up looking like a "crazy lady" - it shows that she appreciates you.
