OMG!! Sounds like you have been through the wringer. Whatever you do - DON'T overdo!!! You need to rest and heal. I'm so sorry that a nurse messed up and caused you so much trouble (I'm a nurse). I hope it resolves without anymore problems.

Do they have you clamping off the catheter - to fill your bladder - and then unclamping to empty your bladder? You'll need to do that to retain bladder tone, and to be able to "feel" when you need to "go" once they remove the catheter. If they are not having you do that - DON'T DO IT JUST BECAUSE I SAID SO. I would call the doctor and say that someone mentioned it and see if they want you to do that. They might not, for some reason I don't know about.

Keep us posted

Thanks for that info. I go friday to have it taken out. But I can feel when it fills up
right now. So maybe a week with it in won't matter. I can always hope and pray.
But I will call today and see. Thanks again. I feel great except for that.

That's a really good sign that you can feel when it fills up - that's the feeling you want! Sometimes when catheters flow continuously the bladder never fills so you lose that feeling.

Good luck!
