Didn't notice it being small as a child, but boy after I grew up couldn't believe we did it....LOL.

Mom still lives there and it's the perfect size for her now.
we also grew up in a two bedroom house, the three of us.. i would love to be able to stay home.. and just Mike work. But i really don't think it will be fair to bring another child into this world the way it is right now, with the trillions being spent on the economy my poor child is going to have to pay that back.. plus us.. just worried when all this money runs out, there going to tax the hell out of us. i got a carton of cigs. yesterday and almost died.... 55.00 a carton for cigs... crazy....

I got to see the bedroom where Janet slept as a child and I couldn't believe that they got 4 children in there!!! It was really small!!! But, Janet, I bet that you have great memories of your brothers and sister in that room!!!

I shared a room with my brother when I was really little then when I was in the 4th grade we added on to our house. We built a family room and a bedroom. The new bedroom was mine and it was painted pale pink.......I still love that color!!!!

I grew up in a two bedroom, one bath house too - but I was the STEP sister. My older
s-sister had the bedroom, my s-brother slept on the pull out couch and I slept on a rollaway bed we kept in the hall and pulled out into the living rooom each night. There was a little built in closet (about 2 ft wide, 2 ft deep, by 5 ft high) and 3 built in drawers in the hall. When my sister was at home, my brother got those for his things (I have no clue where my things were kept - I was 5 years old). About 2 years after I got there, my sister moved out and my brother got the bedroom and I got the hall closet and drawers, where I stayed until my brother went to college - I was 13, and then I got the bedroom - but had to let him sleep in there when he came home!!!

It's amazing, we are all so used to more space now! Our current home is only 1200 sq. ft., but we only had one daughter. It has 3 bedrooms though. A few years ago, Gary built on a den, office, and large closet onto the back of the house.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I was a child, my parents only bought what we needed and then only if we had room for it. I remember Mom sitting at the kitchen table paying the bills and had this book that she wrote everything down in.

Now we have to have more room for all the stuff we buy....lol and most of it is stuff we just want....don't need.

Only two more days till spring break!!!!!

I don't remember having an over-abundance of toys but my brother and I were really spoiled (it kills me to admit this too!!). My Mom and Dad both worked and we eventually lived in a really big, nice home. We almost always got what we wanted for Christmas and had a lot of gifts. But I don't remember getting much in between birthdays and Christmas. We always wore really nice clothes but I do remember Mom always shopping the sale rack!!! And she still does!!

A few years ago I went by a distant family's house to visit after a funeral and their home was dirty and so run down. Being there really made me appreciate everything that my Mom and Dad had done for me and so the next time I saw them I gave them a big hug and told them how much I appreciated all their hard work to provide us with nice things and a nice home.

Besides working regular jobs my Mom and Dad built a car wash and ran it for years, had several rentals around town, was in charge of a newspaper delivery in our town, and many other jobs. They worked very hard. My Dad had grown up very poor and he swore that his kids would never live that way.

I said the same thing before Micah was born,, Mike is a wonderful worker, and he will be doing side jobs again this summer, if anyone has the money to spend on there houses, and i'm also a hard worker, I swore Micah will never wear used clothes like i had to, or used toys. i have one child and he will be spoiled to some degree, but he will understand it takes hard work to get these toys and extras that he wants...
