That's a good idea. You really never know what will happen in the end anyway.
When Jess was living up here, and I was still in Brooklyn, I saw them at least once each month, if not more. I like to drive, and would spend a couple of days there. They were about 5 hours one way. It was less visiting, but each time was more special. I also mailed the children packages a lot. If you put $2.00 worth of crayons, candy and whatnot in a box, it's exciting to a child. My MIL used to mail Jessie a letter with one piece of gum in it every so often. It was so exciting to Jessie when she was a little girl!

That's really good advice, Judy. Thanks!

Judy, I'm going to start a tradition of sending my g-kids a little treat like that. Abigail especially loves stuff like that.

Like I said, my MIL used to do it, and I learned it from her. Children love to get mail and packages. Jessie used to get so happy and excited with her letter and her piece of gum!
Sometimes, if Kohl's is having an especially good sale, and I spend $75 and get free shipping, I'll include a top for each of the kids. They love that! Kohl's tops on sale can cost $3.00 by the time you're done with the discounts, and they will split the mailing addresses so I get mine and they get theirs.
