I cannot believe this....

I have been waiting how long??? for my SIL to come finish up my house. He had about 4 days of work. He did 2 days worth. Fortunately, he did the things I would not trust anyone to do, like checking out my hot water heater. (He raised the temperature a bit, which helps a lot. He said that there is nothing wrong with the element, etc.).

He was supposed to be coming back for the past 2 weeks. Did he? NO!!!
There was a myriad of reasons.

I got an excited phone call from my daughter yesterday. Steve got a job!!!
He started today!!!

Well, hurray for him.

She did tell him that he cannot leave me hanging. He told her that the 2 of them will come over on a weekend and finish it off. She does a lot of work around the house with him. Of course, this weekend is out. He will be too tired from working, Next weekend is Mackenzie's birthday. I told Jess not to worry and that I'll give it about 2 weeks, and then get somebody else if he can't make it.

Should I go on?

I really am happy for him. His medical insurance just ran out and his unemployment ran out already, I think. He does need to work, of course. He does fantastic work, and can now get his foot in the door up here. It is so hard to find work, but he is in the electrician's union. If they like him, he will be brought into that old boy network.

On the other hand, I cannot believe this! I have someone in mind already to come in and finish off. I don't want anyone else doing it, but I am waiting no more.

I figured out that I have been waiting since April. That's 10 weeks, and he couldn't find 2 more days within that time period

Venting is good. Now I can go over there with a smile on my face. I will never tell them how I really feel.

Once I get the work finished, I will get over it anyway. I know my own nature.

I can feel your pain Judy....that's the way my husband is with anything around here. I lived with it for 34 years. One of these days I swear I'll just call someone to come get all the odds and ends done and then let him figure out how to pay for it...lol.

Totally understand Judy, i will say it again, you are one patient lady!!

My dishwashing machine gave up the ghost, for weeks it was just standing there, the more i thought of it the more frustrated i became, so i finally told him that i would take it to the scrap yard because i had ordered another one and will give it to him for a fathersday gift, and guess what?! Next thing it was up and working again, he had opened it up himself, all it needed was a new washer stuck in!

I can understand your fustration. You've certainly been very patient with your SIL. Thank goodness your daughter had something to say about it. You have every right to find someone to finish your work. If he couldn't find time to finish it without a job he'll have even a harder time finding time to get it completed now. You know that you can vent to us anytime!!!! We understand.

And to add......I'm glad that he found a job. With this economy that's quite an accomplishment. I hope things work out well for him.
