Iwould definitely try what Diana said - the wrist thingie. I hope it goes away soon! Pain is just wrong.
Your Mom is a hoot! She took her camper and stayed in a barn? Maybe she can have the dialysis done in her camper.

I don't have any pain in my wrists or hands...just my thumb, pointer finger and middle fingers on the ends have numbness...no pain. Such a weird feeling. When I go to Wal Mart or CVS I will check on the wrist bands. Maybe I'll be able to feel a difference before the appointment on the 10th.

Janet,
I hope the new dr can determine what's goin on. I've been waking up at night with my whole hand asleep. I just lay on it for to long. Good luck with that. And I know your mom. She'll keep going no matter what. Your always in my prayers.

Linda, one of the wrist wraps would probably help you too. It has a metal plate in it that holds your hand a certain way and then you velcro the wrap onto your hand. It's really very comfortable. It doesn't allow you to hold your wrist wrong so you don't go numb. You'll find it where they have knee and ankle wraps at Wal-mart.

The wrist splints that Diana is referring to should help. They helped me with the carpal tunnel problems at first. Then mine got worse and the wrist splints didn't work any more.
Janet, hate to say it, but your symptoms sound like classic carpal tunnel syndrome.

Janet, I don't know how i missed this thread!!! I'm glad that you are going to the specialist - I think you need to have this checked out - but I'm hoping it is something simple!
You are right, it is too hot to camp in this heat with no AC - thankfully, she is inside with friends and AC. She is a hoot though, living life to the fullest, doing what she can to enjoy every moment.
