I can't wait until my period stops! I hate it! I probably have 10 more years of it though. Oh just the thought makes me cringe!

I'm 49 and going through the "change". I never know what to expect with my periods. I had hot flashes bad enough that I wasn't sleeping very good so I'm on Prempro. It helps to even out my moods too. I'll be glad when it's over. It would be so nice when you're done having kids if you could just flip a switch and be done with it!!

I was talking with my mom after I had my hysterectomy and told her I took Premarin for the hormones. She didn't know what I was talking about so I told her about the hot flashes and night sweats. She went through the change in her late 40's and didn't notice anything different except no periods. She has never taken hormones of any kind and didn't have any of the other symptoms.
Wish I could have gone through the change instead of the hysterectomy, maybe I would have followed in her footsteps with no symptoms. But I am glad the periods are gone and only one little pill a day keeps the other stuff away.... ![]()

I just found out my mom went through the change a few months ago. I noticed something was different. She's never been real talkative about her feelings. She's the typically farm girl/ tomboy. She used to take stuff out on me when she was upset about something else. Now she actually talks to me about what's bothering her & I really like it. It seems to be bringing us closer. She said her's wasn't too bad expect she was afraid she was going to bleed to death. She bled for like 2 months straight & finally went to the doctor & he said that that can happen. Now she's over that & doing okay just a bit more emotional.

I'm 45 and my periods last for 3 days but they are a killer 3 days. Cramps are awful. Have been since they started when I was 12. Even after giving birth they were killer cramps. But I know about the hot flashes can't wait to have them.
I'm a cold person. I can never warm up. But when I'm on my period I do get them. Thanks for sharing everyone. I wasn't sure what the age was as to when things start happening. My mom never told me about it. She had a histo when she was 65. ![]()
