How sad. That's too bad that her shoes were stolen. I can't believe how sticky-fingered kids are today. She should have announced very loudly about the athlete's foot that she was going to the doctor for treatment for because it was a very stubborn strain!!!! That might have gotten the shoes back!!!!

Awwwwwww how sad, someone had to spoil your grandaughters excitement!
That happened to my son when he went off to basketball camp at MSU, yrs. ago...What I dont get is, don't the parents see there children coming home wearing shoes they did not purchase for them? Hopefully a responsible parent will notice and have the child return them, to your grandaughter! |

Thanks Maggie! I hope so.
I attended a scrimage for the final cut for the volleyball team. Abi played with what appeared to be the best 6 players - or at least 6 of the best 12 players. There were 30 girls, and there will be two teams of 12, an A and B team, so most of them will make it. Abi did pretty good.

Go Abi!!! Sports for young teen girls can be so helpful for their self esteem and team spirit.
You are a good Grandma, to replace her shoes. Shame on that girl who stole them. Some kids steal, for so many reasons. It is best for her to forget about it and just stick to the keep it in the locker rule. My 12 year old, Mackenzie is playing soccer again. She was asked to try out for this level, which was nice.

Thanks All!
Abi had to try out again for her club team. They ended up having more girls apply to play than they originally had, so they decided to re-do tryouts. Abi made the team the first time and she was confident she would make it the second time. She did make it, and so did her best friend!! She is so excited!!! Her best friend is not a very good player, but she knows that and is OK with sitting on the bench or just getting to play a little bit. She's a very good friend as she is so supportive of Abigail. She understands that she is a little bitty skinny thing, and Abigail is a tall, muscular athletic type and that Abi is just going to be better at v-ball or most any sport. They are sooo excited to be on the same team and I am so glad that they are. They do not go to the same school, so they only get to see each other on weekends. When club v-ball starts in Nov., they will get to see each other at practice and games. YAY!
