YAY! It's Friday!
Any plans for the weekend?
We have had such cool temps this past week, mostly in the 79's - hardly even into the 80's. I know that won't last, but it sure has been nice!!! I need to find a nice outdoor festival to enjoy this weekend! Today is my granddaughter Abigail's 13th birthday. Unfortunately, since she's had the swine flu and her parents have had some symptoms too this week, we won't get to have a family birthday party for her till the symptoms are GONE! She's planning her "friend party" for next weekend anyway, because she has a v-ball tourney this weekend. So, that worked out OK. We always get together as a family too, but that will have to wait a bit. She's already got her present - we went together and got her an iphone. That's what she wanted. I got her a couple other little things to wrap up though, of course, you know how Mimi's are

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABIGAIL, THE TEENAGER!
We don't have anything big planned, just need to get caught up on some housework and grocery shop. I did a little last night. SIL flew back to Iraq yesterday, so the kids were moody. They had grilled cheese for supper, one of our comfort foods. They're scattered in three different places tomorrow, so they won't be helping. I've been trying really hard to eat healthier and walk more. I want to go to a couple of places (Wal-Mart and Academy) to look at treadmills. Harold doesn't want me to get one, but I want to walk every day and with a treadmill I can even walk in the morning!

That's a great idea Sandy. The thing you need to plan for is that the treadmill is boring. So, you need to place it where you can see the TV, or you need a radio to listen to - or books on tape/CD is a great way to pass the time on the treadmill. It's a great way to get good exercise, especially as we get older. I say "go for it!" You might also look on Craigslist or something like that. People are always selling treadmills as they get tired of them and don't use them if they don't plan to counteract the boredom.

We don't have too much going on this weekend and I hope it stays that way!!! On Saturday evening our church is having a Mexican supper. I think that it's being put on by our children's church so the kids will be doing the serving and the entertainment. It's always cute and the food's delicious. I may be running to Wal-mart sometime to get some more red paint. I've had to put on so many coats that a gallon hasn't gone very far. So if I do that it means a trip out of town.
Then on Sunday after church we're meeting Glen's brother, girlfriend, and other family members at a restaurant for his brother's birthday. Then we'll come home and hopefully get a nap in!!! Sandy, good luck with getting a treadmill!! I have my Mom's and it's quite a workout because it's stuck on one speed!!!!! I haven't used it much but I need to.

Let's see...this weekend what am I doing?
Got a call today from Lynne saying she is in desperate need of getting her dogs groomed. Sometime over the weekend I'll be going to her house. Haven't seen her for a few weeks so I'm anxious to get together with her. I do need to trim the shrubs over the weekend too. Not sure what else, but it's going to be beautiful. The leaves are starting to change and are falling to the ground. We never got the rain this week that was predicted earlier...but we are suppose to get some Sunday. We really could use some too. I'm just anxious for the weekend. I hope to take some pictures of this beautiful fall weather.

I forgot that Dae Lynn is moving on Saturday so I'll be helping with that!! I got to see her new house on Wednesday. It's really cute for a rental. She'll have lots of room. I can see some of my "extras" going to her house. She already has several things that are mine. Oh well, it cleans out the basement!!!

I am working all weekend. Overtime is good money, but leaves little room for myself!! I was hoping to get Sunday off, but hate to say no when so many people are out of work. Just glad I have a job that is going well.

I am single this weekend again... Scott came home yesterday but left this afternoon for his parents' house He will be back on Sunday.
I am going to just RELAX this weekend! I will probably clean the condo a lot because I've been slacking, and I have no other plans. We have been having record-breaking heat and it really just feels too hot to be outside. It's been 15 degrees celsius above average! Tonight I'm just hanging out on the couch with a cute dog and a cute movie (I'm going to watch Madagascar 2)

Melissa and I left here at 7 this morning and attended a Ladie's Day at a congregation of the church in Corpus Christi. Just as we were getting home around 2:30, I got a call from a friend needing me to help entertain two beautiful little girls, ages 5 & 7, so their mom could participate in a Bible study this afternoon. Rex called just as I was leaving to come back home and ask me to stop and pick up some supper he had called in to a restaurant. We watched the Texas vs. Texas Tech game for a while. I played Farmville and now am on here.
Tomorrow Garrett is off, so we will have Melissa and Garrett over for lunch. We are cooking a picnic (smoked pork shoulder), mashed potatoes and such for lunch, so should be really good. Tomorrow afternoon is cleaning and laundry and back to work on Monday. All in all, it's been a wonderful weekend so far!!

We had a pretty quiet day. We went to eat breakfast at my favorite family-owned Mexican restaurant. MMMMM, eggs mexicana = eggs scrambled with jalapenos, tomatoes, and onions. It came with fried potatoes (which I didn't eat, but wanted to!) and beans (I LOVE THEIR BEANS). I ate it with corn tortillas - MMMMMMM!
Then, Gary and I went to Best Buy - he was looking for a game for his new computer - but didn't find any Then I stopped at Walmart for a couple of things and back home. I made a trip to the grocery store but spent most of the rest of the day watching football on TV. Oh I forgot, I cleaned out a "junk" cupboard - it was FULL of old tupperware (without lids) and other plastic wear - just too much and I never used it. Now I have more room! YAY! I have a very small kitchen so I need all the room I can get! I mowed the yard - I have a yard service, but they only come every other week and with the rains we had last weekend, the grass was already knee high and they don't come till Thursday. I don't mind mowing the yard, and it was only in the low 80's so it was nice! I've been watching the Texas - Texas Tech game the rest of the evening. I plan to go to the nursery tomorrow to get some compost for my trees, fertilizer for the yard, and I'm going to plant some lettuce and cilantro. The nursery is soooo busy, that I will try to get there very early in the morning before the crowds. Then I can get the compost and fertilizer down before it gets warm. I'll let you know how that goes!
