I think it is genetic, Gayle. My father's family and I are so similar in temperament! We all prefer our alone time, and our freedom. It is really interesting that we are so similar. We tend to marry people who "take over," and then they annoy us! But, none of us want to be in charge of somebody else. It is so much easier to let someone else choose the little things, just as long as they understand that they have to give us our space. We also marry people who adore us, so that we can have things our way when it is really important.
The Bard is Shakespeare. That's why he is so hard to understand! I love Shakespeare, but I can't figure it out on my own. I'm just not motivated. I taught Macbeth once, and had to learn how to read it. I got a movie, and a reader's guide. I loved it!!! What a great writer. It's fun to teach too, because underneath the language are great stories. I also taught Chaucer once, with a lot of help from my friend Nigel, who understood old English. What fun! The underlying story is hilarious, and it ends with someone farting in someone's face, underneath all of that flowery language. This is now being typed on my good computer, which did come back last week. Thank goodness
