Actually I still had a few cigarettes left...I should have thrown them away and didn't...I can tell this is going to be extremely hard for me. I think I am going to pick up the lozenges today...Hopefully they will help...Maybe I should do like you and just set a day...like Friday...

Well i'm going to the doctors wed. get the patches, then i set the day for Thursday, so i will get up that day, and change the bedsheets so they don't smell like smoke, take a shower, put the patch on and go to work... then we will have Friday off for Good Friday, ( I have Friday off anyways) But Mike will have Friday off. i'll get rid of all the ashtrays and spray my basement down with lysol, wash our jackets etc... get rid of any cigs. we have left.. i'm running water over them first so i'm not tempted.. and start from there....

brenda, did you ever think about the patch? I liked it before cause it slowly releases nicotine into you, so the cravings aren't so bad...

Brenda.....I hope you're able to quit. You really won't believe how much better life is and how wonderful the smells are now. Wish I'd never ever started those things, but very thankful that with God's help....I'm done with them.

Best of luck to the both of you!

Yes I have...I have very sensitive skin and my doctor told me that I would probably break out with a rash from it. My skin will get very red and swollen from a band aid

Good luck Haley and Brenda.. You both can do it!!! Just think of all the money you will say.. Geeze when I smoked they were 55 cents a pack. $1.00 in the clubs.. lol

I used the nicotine patch years ago. I was able to use it for about 6 or 7 weeks before the rash came. It really helped, but there are other ways.

Good for you, however you do it!

I was over my mom's this weekend and she quit cold turkey Friday, i am so proud of her, she said the cravings are there but she gets over them. I'm getting myself all ready for Thursday, went grocery shopping, got some gum, pretzel sticks, dried fruit, carrots, and i have a large water bottle to carry around with me, got my treadmill ready to go, i need to get a small tv for that room so i can watch tv and walk on the treadmill or i can read a book also.. when its nice outside i'll be taking Micah for long walks, that boy loves to be outside... and i'll be so glad when i can push his butt up that one hill without being out of breath!!!

I remember my skin breaking out also from the patch, but i moved it around and found out i can put it on my arms with just alittle redness on my skin, then i switched over to the gum after two weeks, i'll probably doing it the same way this time... try the gum. but i remember my jaw hurting cause i was chewing that gum like crazy...

Around my area depending where you buy them they range from 5.15 to 6.00 per pack.. That's crazy i'm not paying that price anymore!!!!
