Rain, rain go away.....come again some other day

It has been raining now since 5:50 pm and so hard that looking across the fields it's all white. The big pond in the field to the south was just beginning to recede, but now it's bigger than I've ever seen it. I love a good thunder storm but I think we are way over our limit for this month.

Tomorrow is the big race (Indy 500) and we'll have the radio on for sure. Hope everyone in the race gets through it without any deadly accidents. It's also suppose to get in the 90's.....with all this rain they are calling for high humidity too. Gonna be a pleasant two days....lolol.....NOT!

That is exactly what I did, but I got a few things done in here and then took a nap. Not sure why I'm wanting to sleep so much and I yawn ALL the time it seems. Not sure how I would handle not having air conditioning. Don't mind the heat too much, but the humidity just drains me.

Do you have much humidity in New York Judy?

I image that your tiredness is stress related, Janet. Try to get in some time for yourself......I know, easier said than done!!

We've been so nice here with all of the storms but they're out of the picture and the temps are heading back up!! I'm glad that it's been a little cooler because I've had so many plants to get in the flower bed and I finally got most of it done!!

Today after church the girls, their kids, and Glen and I went to a nearby lake that has a sand beach. The water was really COLD!!! A few did swim (They're Bakers after all!!!!) but we spent a lot of time playing in the sand!! It was a nice day!!!

Sounds relaxing. The temps here have been good too, but today and tomorrow we are headed into the 90's with high humidity. I want to be outside, but not sure I'll be able to stay very long. Sometimes I wish we still had our pool, but then again, it was a lot of work and expensive to keep up.

I think I may head out here in a bit and mow...maybe I won't sweat too bad just riding around enjoying the scenery.

Gary would love to have a pool too, but it's just too much upkeep and expense. There are lots of houses around us that have pools, but I am glad we do not.

They are a big expense to maintain. While I do like the larger size of the pond for swimming....I like the cleaner water of a pool!!! We've been putting some stuff in to make the water clearer and more blue......so that helps to make it better!!!! This year we have ducks to put on.......I sure hope they don't eat my lily pad blooms!!!! We won't have them very long......they end up being coyote and fox food!!!! Poor things!!! My husband bought them and I didn't know it.

We really enjoyed the above ground pool we had. But trying to keep it clean and clear was a lot of work and the chemicals were expensive. Still....floating around on a raft sure sounds good right night.

It was pretty decent yesterday and today, but tomorrow and for the next few days the temps are heading into the 90's and the humidity is going up. Hope it doesn't stay this way all summer....I absolutely love the 70 and low 80's with no humidity. So relaxing especially if there is a slight breeze. Yes....I'm beginning to wander in my mind again....

We are going to be 95-100 for at least 7 days out, with no chance for rain. It looks horrible here, every thing that is not watered, is dead and brown. The sides of the roads look awful. We probably won't get any rain till a tropical storm or hurricane comes into the coast. When that happens, I have to worry about my kids in Houston. I just can't win for losing!!!

We need rain soooo badly. It's horribly dry. The farmers are having a really bad year, and the ranchers are spending all their money on feed since there is no grass. It's strange how some have too much water and others are in such need.

The twisters can go away from all of us though!!!

I feel guilty to post this, but I am going to the pool today! It's just beautiful and sunny here, with a chance of rain this afternoon (as always). Our pool is on top of the mountain. The view is magnificent, the sun is strong up there, and the pool is heated. I am taking my mp3 player and am going to lay on a lounge and listen to the audiobook I uploaded into the player. I may take my Kindle that I just bought tomorrow.

Okay, so now that I have told you all about the perfect spot to spend summer, please remember that when winter comes, and we have 10 feet of snow for months on end, and no sun ever, you are enjoying better winters.

I got a portable air conditioner on eBay last year. I used it over the weekend, and what a difference! It really cuts the humidity and cools my downstairs off enough to be quite comfy. We usually have cool nights and mornings, but there are usually a few days and nights of heat wave weather.

Don't feel quilty!! You do have a long winter so enjoy!!! I think that the pond is starting to get warm enough to swim in.....anyway that's what the girls told me!!!

How nice that you don't need an airconditioner all the time!!! I bet that really saves on utilities!!!

I'm getting where I really can't tolerate the heat well. I hope that it's just part of the change and I'll get through it becuase I just about die without the AC!!!!
