First Day At My Second Job.

Today was the first day at my new job. I'm still driving the bus, but in-between routes I work at the Recorders office in the courthouse. I work there from 9:00 till 1:30 pm. There is so much to learn and so many details, but I enjoyed today...hope it stays that way. I can really use the extra money that the 21 hours per week will give me. I'll also be making $13.51 an hour so that isn't too bad at all. Just hope I can remember everything.

Oh Janet, I'm so glad you got another job. Only thing better is if it were full-time with benefits! I know you love driving the bus, but it would be nice to have only one full time job! But this may work out great! I'm so happy for you!

Congratulations Janet! I hope you love it and maybe it will turn in to full time with benefits. It's always good to get your foot in the door!

So far so good, thanks for asking. There are two other women in the office, one is the elected County Recorder. She is very nice and very particular how things should be done....I like that, so am I..lol. The other is a full time employee and will probably run for Recorder when this one's term is up.

It's alot of computer entry and filming documents and just so much I don't even know how to say what all I'll be doing. It has to do with all kinds of deeds, all kinds of mortgages, mortgage releases, land transfers... and sooooo much more. Anything in the county that needs to be recorded.

The first week I liked it, but just wasn't sure I was going to be able to learn it all. So far this week, I'm really liking it. It will be so nice to have the extra money (for me...lol) too.

Just ended my second week. So far so good still. I'm liking it more and more all the time. Just so much to remember that I have to keep lots and lots of notes. My brain just isn't as young as it use to be...lol

Janet...... congratulations on your new job, you will soon get the hang of it, i remember starting my job, its awful not knowing what you are doing, and having to ask all the time. Give it a few weeks/months, and you will be feeling much more competant, but its really good that you are enjoying it, well done.

I'm still enjoying the work at the Recorder's office. So much, but it's finally making sense which in turn makes it a little easier. I just can't believe this office handles so much. I still get a little nervous with the County Recorder...I just don't want her to regret hiring me. I'm still making some mistakes, nothing that can't be fixed, but it's so hard to remember every little detail. The other girl has been there for 15 months and is still making a lot of mistakes so I don't feel horrible, but I wish I just could remember everything better. I'm sure I will, but it's all so detailed. Good thing I keep excellent notes...lol
