Christmas cards

I wrote out and mailed a couple dozen Christmas cards today.
I found some really pretty ones with a religious quote and and beautiful Thomas Kinkade picture on them. I also bought some Pooh ones for my younger recipients.

I have a few more to write out, but need to find addresses for them yet since I lost them from last year.
All told I send about 3 dozen cards each year.

How many cards do you send?
How many do you get?
What kind of cards do you like to send?

I normally send out 20 to 30 cards. But just to people i don't see or talk to much if at all during the year. As for receiving any don't get that many maybe 15 or so.

I haven't sent out cards in quite a few years. I really should, but it's getting kinda late now. I wish I would have ordered some from Villette with the doggies on them. Maybe I will for next year. I don't receive very many either. Postage has just gotten so high.

It's not too late to send cards. It's just December 8th. I sent out around 100 last year. I always thought that I had to hand address each envelope and that took time which I didn't have. Last year I got smart and streamlined things a lot and entered everyone into an Excel spreadsheet. I can print the clear Avery mailing labels, and they look nice. That way all I have to do is write in each card & if you sit down and just do it, it doesn't take much time at all. This year I just have to make a few updates on the spreadsheet and I'm good to go. May get my daughters to do them next week if I don't get them done this weekend. Melissa (aka Lissa on 4WT) will be home from school.

I send out cards with snowmen and Christmas trees that I buy at Walmart, not expensive, but it's the thought, right?!

We receive way less than we send, but the reason to send them and so many is that many of them go to people who are older, some are widowed and we just want them to know that someone thought of them at Christmas.

They have some really pretty snowflake stamps this year, too. The cost is less than for our whole family to go to Chili's or Red Lobster to eat, so it's not really so bad, and hopefully it brings a little joy to the receivers.

That's a great idea using the spreadsheet. I'm always learning something on here!

I ususally send out about 30 Christmas cards and I probably recieve about that many. I haven't sent cards out for the last couple of years and decided that I would send picture cards this year.

I have my digital pictures developed on-line at yorkphoto.com so I went there and, with the click of a few buttons, you can have photo cards made. I used a picture from last year and picked out what card lay-out that I wanted. They turned out really nice. I bought some extra because I thought that I might send out a few more than usual.

That's a nice idea. I haven't gotten that organized, yet. We should probably try to take a nice picture this year and plan that for next year. It would be a nice touch.

I have sent out about 10 so far. I need to send out about 7 more. Last year we received right many. So far this year we haven't gotten many at all. I guess stamps are just so expensive these days.

I know I still have time, but I don't think I'll send any out this year. I'm hoping to take some good pics of the babies by the tree this year and then I think I'll order some from Villette. She'll have a whole year to get them done. The cards she makes are so good and beautiful. I think she's very talented.

Yep I had wanted to get some cards from her as well. I just waited to late to do it. I figured she would be swamped so I will try next year.
