Double Standards
Why does my husband tell me not to do something but turn around and do it himself. For example, we are on a tight budget bc starting in August hubby and I will BOTH be in professional school, so we make a conscious effort to stick to a budget. Well yesterday hubby wanted to buy some things for his truck and I didn't say anything. But when I wanted to go buy somethings to help me organize our apartment, that was NOT okay. What's with the double standard?

That sounds a little selfish, unless the things for his truck were for maintenance or gas. You may want to discuss with him what exactly your family budget is and what is and is not allowed, so you both know and feel comfortable about it. Discussing money matters openly can be beneficial to your relationship. You may also want to tell him how you are feeling about the situation.
Double standards are definitely unfair and unhealthy for a relationship. |
