Ads vs. Reality!

My husband and I have noticed that the picture and presentation are two different things when you're looking at fast food! Have you ever looked at the hamburgers on a Sonic display? What you actually get looks like it was laid in the road and run over by a Mack truck!!!

The differences are not limited to fast food. Check out the entree pictures on any restaurant's menu's compared to what your dish looks like when it arrives. This was one of my FIL's big pet peeves. He would tell the waitress what he wanted and that he wanted it to look just like this one, pointing to the pic.

Honestly, though ladies, I've been avoiding fast food for so long (other than Subway and Jason's Deli) that even the actual pictures made me hungry as I sit here scraping the bottom of a Weight Watchers (1pt) yogurt cup.

BTW, I've heard that the food in advertising pics is not always even food. It is stuff made to look like food, Elmer's glue instead of mayo and such, because it photographs better & looks more appealing.

I've seen that site before. I always find it disappointing to compare the ads to reality. You see it and it looks good, then you get it and it's not impressive...makes the emotional side of me get a tiny bit depressed.

Veru true, you just never get what is shown in the pictures. I dont eat burgers at all, the only thing that i will have is the Subway veggie pattie, and get to chose which salads, and dressing i want on it while im watching how they handle it.

I always knew they didn't look like on TV, but didn't realize how big a difference there actually was. Still tastes good....LOL, just not as pretty.
