My Boob!

Ha. Yes, I am here to write about my right boob. For about month now, I've been having pain in it, and it's been tender, and sensitve to the touch. I finally went to the doctor and she said everything feels just great and normal. She's giving me a referral to get a ultrasound, just in case. It's just so wierd. She didn't really explain what it could be other than stress, or too much caffiene or something, but I'm kinda left in the dark with a 'hurty' boob. Anyone ever have random boob pain?

Been there, done that!!! It's probably just a cyst. I've had them for years. They always get really tender right before I start. Cutting back on caffeine will help it not get as tender. It's a good thing that you're having it checked out, but I'm sure that it's nothing to worry about.

Oh she said something about a cyst! Gosh I really hope not. So you have one? Is it one, or are there many in there? I'm going to have to google this cause I have so many what if questions!

Yes, I have them. I've had them since I was in my early 20's. They're not a big deal and nothing to worry about. I think that when women have soreness they automatically think of cancer and doctors don't explain what a cyst is well enough and we end up getting really worried over it.

I have a friend that had soreness and the doctor scheduled a test (I don't remember what kind) and she just knew that she had cancer. I kept telling her it was probably a cyst and not to worry about it, but when it's your body it's hard not to worry. After she had the test she found out that it was just a cyst. She had to cut back on her coffee, which was hard for her to do. You know how you retain water before your period? That's all that a cyst is, a place that fills with fluid. It goes back down a few days after your period.

Here's a web site that tells about them. I hope that this helps.

Did you go for your boob test yet? I have cystic breasts, so I'm used to a pain here and there.

Cut down on the caffeine and don't worry if you don't have to. I always figure if they don't call an ambulance or send you for tests or to the hospital right away, it can't be that bad.

Yep, I've got fibrocystic disease, too, and have had an actual lump removed that was different than the cystic disease. My doctor basically said if it is soft and hurts, it's probably a cyst and cut back or eliminate the caffine. A lump that is cancer usually does not cause pain when it's small.

It's always better to be safe than sorry, so talk to your doctor anytime you have a concern. Never feel bad about asking questions. You have to communicate to get the best healthcare and push them to take you seriously!!

Hope this gets better soon. It can be painful & worrisome.
