Thumbs down Time To Register!

Today I have to take my son and register him for school. Man, where has this summer gone to? We start back to school on the 13th and I will need to pick the bus up sometime before then. I had a pretty crowded bus last year so I hope it's not quite as full this year.

Usually I'm ready to go back because I miss the kids, but this year.....I'm just not ready.

We took them shopping for school clothes yesterday.
They always love that.

Wow Janet, your area goes back early!

Here they usually go back right after Labor Day. That keeps the students who work in recreation and tourism available through the holiday weekend.

I hope you get a nice bunch of kids this year. I know I wouldn't have the patience or nerves to do your job. My hat's off to you.

Wow! You really do start early. When do you end for the summer?

I hope you get great kids who you love. I hope that little red head comes back. She needs you.

I feel like our summer flew by too and it's hard to believe that it's time for school to start already. I went and enrolled Jaci today and she's not happy at all about that. I have never looked forward to having my kids go back to school because I have always enjoyed having them at home.

I think that we start back on Aug. 16th, but Jaci has volleyball practice that starts on Sunday night and will be every week day and Cheer practice will start being 2 or 3 times a week. She's a very busy girl.

I have a total of 10 new students.....5 of them are Kindergarten...ouch!!! One mother called and was telling me her 2nd grade boy is a hellion!! I told her she needed to speak with him before he starts riding my bus, because I don't put up with no nonsense. She said he never got in trouble on his other bus, but I told her hopefully he won't on mine either, but he'll need to follow the rules.

Seems like some parents want to warn me, but then want me to give their kid special attention. I have over 83 students assigned to my 72 passenger bus, (some kids don't ride) I don't have time to let them get away with crap and then gt them to school and home safely. Usually the first couple weeks are the hardest for the kids. Getting to know my rules and that I stick with them no matter who the kid is.

Yikes! Sounds like you have a big load this year!!

I can't believe school is already starting back. I go back in two weeks and I have a 19 hour course load. Hopefully I'll be able to handle it alright. We'll see... lol

The best thing about my schedule this semester is that I don't have ANY classes on Friday. 3 day weekend every weekend!

Wow, Janet, you have a lot of kids on your bus!!!!! I don't think that any of our buses are that full. Once you start bending the rules where does it stop? You're much better off sticking to the rules, it's easier that way for you and the riders.

Angie, that sounds like a lot of hours! The 3 day weekend, I'm sure, will be a welcome relief!!!!! Good luck!

Wow... That is a lot of kids Janet! Even if they don't all ride, you're going to have plenty to keep an eye on. I have to give you a pat on the back for the job you do. It sure isn't something I could do! I'd end up getting myself in trouble for losing it with some smart mouthed little demon. LOL

God bless those who have the patience and nerves to handle it.

I used to tell mothers of really bad kids on my classroom that was going to make them sit in the classroom with their child, and that my union would back me up. Those kids straightened out fast!

The parents would say, "but I have to go to work, " to which I would respond that I couldn't do my job with their child in my class.
