Suggestions?

I'm making a collage of Brendon and me for our living room. The attached picture is what I've made for the design so far, but I'm not sure what I think. Would it be better in black & white or sepia like it is in the picture? Do you like the pictures the way they are or should I rearrange them and if so, how? Are there any pics you don't like that I should replace or suggestions of something else that I should include?

Thanks!

Oh, and after this one, I'm working on one of the whole family. I'll be asking for opinions on that one too!

That's a really lovely collage you have put together. I really like the tone you are using in the photos. What kind of frame(s) are you planning to use?

Thanks Kate. We haven't decided on the frames yet, but we might go with just a matting.

Here's the family collage I mentioned earlier. It's all of my siblings, my mom, and of course, Marty! The pic of Marty isn't my favorite, but I wanted Bren to help and asked him to find me a good pic of Marty and that's the one he gave me. I couldn't very well say it wasn't good enough since he was sweet enough to pick one out for me...so it stays. Am I a softie or what? lol.

I can't decide whether to leave this one in color (I kind of like it that way) or if I should do it in sepia like the other one. I already have the frames for this one. They are a dark brown wood. Very cute.

With family members, if they are going to be around, I like to check and make sure each likes the photo I picked - they may have shots of themselves they like better. But those look lovingly selected and all so happy.

I'll tell her you said that Mandy! It was taken on my wedding day and she looked AMAZING! There are very few pictures she likes of herself, but she likes that one. Thank goodness! I had an awful time finding one to use for the collage! Same for Mom, but yes, I was sure to pick ones they wouldn't kill me for using!

Sheryl, the layout part is easy. The part I'm NOT looking forward to is actually trying to get the nails in the wall at the right places. I'm a perfectionist so if it doesn't turn out JUST RIGHT, I'll never be satisfied.

If you'd like, send me a bunch of pictures and I can design a layout for you! I love doing stuff like that. I wouldn't be able to help actually get it onto your wall for you though...

LOL Angie...I have one of those wall laser leveler thingies, you are more than welcome to borrow it. They work wonders!

Thanks for the offer - Right now you just have fun working on yours, helping your Mom out, taking care of hubby, and all that stuff a good wife does. You have a pretty full plate right now, but again thanks sooo much.

I have a leveler too, but it's the kind that has liquid inside and you have to align it so that the liquid is between the two lines in the middle. It's a pain. I should really get a laser leveler. They look so much easier!

I also have to measure how far apart each picture is so that they're all the same distance from each other. What a pain! *sigh*

Working with pictures helps me keep my mind off of things when I'm sad so if you ever need anything done, just let me know!

I love both of them. Marty's picture is adorable! I think the family shot should be in color, and you and Brendon in sepia, just like you have them. I can't wait to see the finished products hanging up. I totally agree with you about hanging things. It really sucks and I am always amazed when something I hang up comes out straight
and at the right height.

I love collages. If it cheers you up, maybe you can get into real collages with different textures, etc.

I'm going to try that soon. I want to get a canvas, put some oil-looking acrylics on, and then add thinks like bark, wire, lace, wood, whatever.

That sounds great Judy! You'll have to post pics when you do it. I'd love to see!
