I'm gathering my energy....
I had something I wanted to do on Sunday - I stayed home instead and did mostly nothing.
Monday I think I went out - Yes, I went to the City to the dentist and grocery shopping . Tuesday, I was going to see a fun mind reader show and told my pottery teacher I wouldn't be there. Never left the house except for an hour to get my hair done. Today, another beautiful day, I didn't even bother thinking about going out I'm really comfy on my couch with the dogs napping. I think I'm gathering my energy because I'm going to be going upstate soon to check out a few towns and then find a real estate agent. It's pretty scary, so I'm putting off checking out all of the towns online at one time. I'm taking it slowly, which is how I do things this big. I've been doing some online real estate research for the past couple of weeks too and talking to people. I looked up one town seriously yesterday. I may do another tomorrow. Before too long, I'll be in the car, driving up to see these towns. But for today, I'm going to eat lunch, watch Dr. Phil and some tapes I have. All I can say is "Yikes."

I'm sure that it's going to take a lot of work to try and find just the right place for you but it will be worth it in the end. I wish that I was there to go and help you look at communties and houses. I think that sounds like fun!!!! You'll have to post some pictures so we can see what you're considering! It will also be a nice time to be traveling with all of the trees changing (or have they already dropped their leaves?).

Sounds like a good thing to be doing. Making yourself ready for change. It's good that you have flexibility enough to do so.

Change can be scary at times Judy. You will find your new home when the time is right. I envy your patience. I'm one that would exhaust myself spinning my wheels looking at stuff that wasn't going to work. In the end become very overwhelmed.
So....You are doing great and good luck finding the perfect home for you.

Judy change is always a scary thing, its because its the unknown. Just take your time and do a lot of research. When I left Bklyn being born and raised there it was a big adjustment. Not only had I moved, but my life had changed , my mom and dad had passed away. I was their caretaker and I had all those memories of growing up in the area. Most of my friends and family have left. When I go back to visit my inlaws, I pass through the neigborhoods with memories, by the end of the day I can't wait to come home...lol So you will adjust to. Good luck to you.
Btw where are you looking to move? Maybe I can help you I am a realtor ...lol |

Gina,
I didn't know you were a realtor! I'm looking in lower and mid Hudson Valley. I've scouted out a few towns that look promising and affordable. They're Fishkill, Wappingers Falls and Beacon. I'm sure there are more, but I don't know about them. Do you deal with that area?

I am totally overwhelmed, but I'm the type who goes under the covers and I guess I figure out as much as possible. Believe me, I wish you were all here and we could go together to find me a place! Two of my closest friends are also moving - in this area. Lots of movement in my life! Right now, what scares me most is what if I pick the wrong community and I hate the people who live there and I won't have any friends or find anyplace to meet people.
