For those of us left behind....
This thread is for all of those unable to make the first 4WT Convention in Chicago.....
What are you doing today? Are you having a productive Saturday???? I've been running around getting my gift together for Melissa's shower. It's really something special. Not expensive, but special. Since she's a member here and might get bored today an check in, I won't say what it is. Hubby had me buy a new gas grill while I was out running around. We have one of those big stainless steel ones, but it did not hold up well at all, and we can't get it to work, so bought a low cost one at Lowes that is a throw-away if it goes out. They are all made in China anyway. I'm munching a bit, then have to get busy sewing some table runners for the wedding reception. So what are you up to today??? Only post if your are not at the convention.

Well Marilyn...I'm still pretty much having a pity party for myself...LOL. I just need to get busy so I won't think about it. Also have some one coming to see the puppy, should be here about any time. Need to sew some new belly bands for Joey and a friend wants some too for her boys, just can't get motivated to do it yet. Have all the windows open in the house, wind blowing something fierce, but feels great. Other than what I've mentioned, I may check some prices of things online. Still want a GPS...even more now than I did...LOL. And even though I love LOVE my camera, I would like another small slim one to carry with me at all times....ya just never know when ya need one..LOL.

Sounds like your having a good day, and hey, if you can sell another puppy, that's a good thing!!!! A GPS would be really nice, but I use Google Maps on my i-Phone, and the phone has a 2 megapixel camera. The pictures are fine for me when I need to take one in a pinch and could not be more handy.
Hope you get accomplished what you want to today. BTW, just thought, I've heard that this is a really good time of year to buy electronics. People are wanting them around Christmas, so prices in general go up, and after Christmas, people are trying to find sales, and prices really don't drop that much then. The actual lower prices are this time of year when demand is lowest and stores need to move merchandise. Happy hunting!!

I'm being a lazy butt.
Have done 2 loads of laundry, and very little else. Just trying to keep calm and get myself back to a better place health wise. Greg's putting a new faucet in the bathroom sink because ours has been leaking. It's 72 degrees, sunny and breezy, so a gorgeous day.

I got home at 6 this morning from the relay for life, and then I had a nice hot bubble bath and went to bed. Layla was being really annoying because she already slept all night and wanted to play, but I finally fell asleep at about 9 and got up at 3 this afternoon. Then I went to Walmart to buy some plants and planted some flowers in the front yard. Now I'm ready to be lazy again! I might put in a movie and relax on the couch. This is definitely not a typical day!

Thank you for the tip on buying electronics...I'll have to start checking things out more agressively.

I'm so glad you sold the puppy to a good family. I know you'll miss her, but you can't have all the yorkies in the world! You do have to share.
I taught my class this morning. Next week is their final, and that's the last class I'll be teaching at this college. I have loved teaching there, but I'm moving and can't take the college with me. When I got home, I read their revised research papers, emailed them with comments, and then took a nap. After dinner, I did my bills, and now I'm here.

Well, I had a productive day. All in all, got quite a bit done on Melissa's table runners for the wedding reception. I had a sample put together for her to see of the runner with her decorations and she loved it, so that at least made me feel good. It's been a lot of work and I have 7 more to make.
Both girls got here early evening, so we visited a bit then went and got a bite to eat and they've been on the computers and watching a movie while I worked on the runners some more. I'll be so glad when they are finally finished. Janet, right now, I think the only phone that will do what mine does is the Apple i-Phone, and i have to pay $20.00 per month for the internet access. I'm on my husband's business plan. I love my phone, and the extra expense is worth it for me. With all the driving that I do, I have used Google maps sooo much, and if you are looking for a certain store or restaurant in an unfamiliar city, you can just Google it, or looking for a phone number, Google it. It's been a wonderful tool for me. I think Sprint will be offering a Samsung phone this summer that will be very similiar in function to the i-Phone, only it's supposed to be even faster, and will have turn by turn GPS. i-Phone just has the maps. New toys coming out all the time.

It's so funny Marilyn, but I see all these new 'toys' that come out and get so excited, but then I have to remember...I don't go anywhere to do very much..so I don't know what I'd use them for.....LOL. Still like to check them out though and I do love the rush of thinking about getting it.

I don't travel enough to have GPS and being OCD, I have to route my trips before I get on the road. I have the AT&T Razr and pay $20/month for internet, mostly to get unlimited text messages - it was $5 more for the package.

We have to pay for our text messages, didn't come in our package, but my son still texts anyway. He has a job, so anything above our regular bill, he has to pay for. Was in for a shock this month...he has to pay something like $25. He's decided it's just as simple to make the call instead of texting....LOL
I personally don't know why, with email and instant message and being able to call that everyone likes texting so much...can you or anyone explain it to me? Maybe it's my old age, but I have no desire to text someone.

One daughter texts me from church - Lunch? One texts me - Babysit this weekend?
I have my cell set so that if I get an e-mail from certain people on my Yahoo account, I get a message so I can check it immediately from wherever. It's very important for me to get instant notification when I get an e-mail from my son in Iraq and my hubby or kiddos here. I really enjoy getting pictures from the kiddos, makes me feel like I'm almost there with them. I'm a weather nut, so I enjoy getting text weather updates in bad weather! It's worth $20, but I wouldn't pay much more. I'd love love love to have an I-Phone, but the sides costs are crazy!

Sounds really nice, maybe I should drop the $40 a month for WeightWatchers and get internet on my cell. Just thinking here....hmmmm.....Less money going out a month, just have to have some discipline to keep at my points without encouragement from meetings....oh the pain of deciding what to do. Maybe I should list the pros and cons, that could help.
