We have a man at church that is just the sweetest guy (he lost his wife a year and a half ago) that lives right next to where our city shoots off the fireworks. He always plans a cookout (my Mom and step-Dad helps) and he invites a lot of people from church to come. He has his back yard decorated so nicely and when the fireworks start we all bring out our folding chairs and go to the very back of the yard to watch. I just have to fix a dish to go with hamburgers. It's always a lot of fun!!!

I LOVE fireworks - the Pawtucket Red Sox have them at their stadium Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We are definately going Friday and Saturday. We might be going to the drive in on Thursday night and we're going to a family cookout on Saturday.
The cookout is a big event every year - there will be about 100 to 120 of my relatives there.

We will be going to a local park to watch fireworks and listen to SURVIVOR play for FREE!!! LOL This local park does this every year. Each year they book a band that was popular in my day! LOL Eddie Money played last time. Every one will bring a lawn chair and blankets and cooler full of chips, sandwiches, and drinks. The kids run around playing frisbee and other games while waiying. It really is a lot of fun.

Usually my husband and son shoot some fireworks off here and sometimes we make home made ice-cream. This year, they said it was just too much money so we will drive a little closer to town...park along the roadside and watch the town fireworks.

We'll be going back to the town we used to live in for the parade. Then they have an old fashioned family picnic in the park with free hotdogs and soda. We used to go home after that and collapse in the airconditioning but this year I guess we'll stay at the park. Then there is a huge fireworks display once it gets dark. It's going to be weird being back there when we don't live there anymore. I miss my old little town.

Which reminds me, I need to pick up some bug repellent

Looks like all my kids will be coming in except the single daughter who is on a school trip. We'll hang around the house and cook too much food. Then, I'll go to Louisiana to see my Mom on Saturday. She's stable and still in ICU.

I sold a puppy, so I'm going tonight to buy one of those Wal-Mart big blue plastic swimming pools and maybe one of the big slides. I'll never be able to retire because I spoil my kids and g-kids too much!

The 4th is our 14th wedding anniversay. (My daughters 2nd wedding anniversay, yep we both got married on the same day). To celebrate, my DH and spent money on new wood floors for the living room. So we will be installing them this weekend.

I am sure that we will take time out to go watch everyone celebrate our anniversay with fireworks.

We are having a small cookout at the house. We are doing it early because Angela has to work that evening. Traci and her hubby are sick so I hope they are better then. We still try to keep me from getting sick so I won't miss any radiation. If not Traci's hubby has told me what foods to save him.

I put two different bug repellents on, but I went for a night swim and the suckers got me anyway lol

Mason loves to swim. Only took 2 swimming lessons before he figured out how to keep himself a float from a life jacket to floaties.
