Hello, beautiful world :)

Have you ever had a point in your life where everything just falls into place? That's how I feel right now. I feel like there is a world of opportunity and it's all mine

My family has this big golf tournament every year. It started out about 8 or 9 years ago at my parents' cabin, and my great uncle was really excited for it, but was sick with cancer that had spread throughout his body so he couldn't make it out. On the last day his son and daughter in-law got a call to go home immediately, and the next day he was gone. It turned into his memorial golf tournament and has been held every year since.
Anyways, we've traveled everywhere from around Saskatchewan all the way to the Yukon for this tournament. My great aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary is coming up in 2 years and the plan was to go back to the Yukon for that one (they're from Whitehorse, but drive down here a couple times a year). BUT it turns out my cousin has a timeshare in Cozumel and the whole family decided we're going to go there instead. COZUMEL! That's so exciting for me

Then on the weekend, my friend Kandace and I were walking home together and she asked me about my plans to move to Australia. I explained my situation with Layla and she completely agreed, she could never leave a dog behind either. I told her I'd like to just go for a holiday sometime and she said "Really? I want to go, but not alone. Do you want to go with me?" I said "OF COURSE I WANT TO GO WITH YOU!" so we decided about 5 weeks would be ample time and we'd both look into it.
Yesterday I looked at a few tours throughout Australia and New Zealand. With about 4 tours put together for a total of 39 days... it was affordable. I could really do this. I think not taking the job in BC was a blessing in disguise, because I'm due for a raise and bonus in January, plus I have a whole bunch of extra holiday days saved up from last year and this year, and I'll get another 3 weeks next year.... and Kandace isn't a worry because the girl works in nuclear medicine

she's got the funds to do ANYTHING.
So now I'm excited about LIFE. Everything is great, and I feel like I can actually do all the things I want to do. YAY!

I'm so happy you're feeling on top of the world Lindsey. I've had you on my prayer list to just be happy and this really warms my heart to read. I'd reach for the stars now my friend, go on your trip while you're young and no other responsibilities.
