I think I'm aging too fast!
I don't know what's going on with me lately, I seem to be so forgetful! Just things like I can remember having a conversation, but I can't remember who with. Or I'll know I have to do something on my way home from work, and I think about it all day, and even set a reminder on my cell phone, and then get home and realize I forgot all about it! On Saturday I realized there was a rip in my last pair of contacts. I have been putting off getting an eye exam since December (because I need to find a new eye doctor here in the city). So I got out the phone book and called a place right away and made an appointment. I wrote down everything, the date, the time, even what it would cost me. Okay well I forgot to write down one thing - where I'm going! And for the life of me I can't remember which number I called. Now I don't want to feel stupid and call every optometrist in the city, so HOPEFULLY they will call me back to confirm my appointment!
I hope this absent-mindedness is only temporary

You've had so much going on in your life recently, I wonder if the stress of it all is getting to you a little bit.

Yep, when we get too many things going on at once - it is easy to do all those things you describe. We have only so much storage in our short term memory and when the drawers get full, things like this happen. I think with less stress and less things happening, it will get better. However, it is true that as we get older our short term memory gets worse. Some people, like me, never had a very good short term memory, so I am really in trouble now in my 50's.

I was like that when I was your age. When I had my DD everything seemed to change. I was remembering things that even my husband couldn't remember. Like the others said stress could have a lot to do with it too. You need to take a weekend and just relax.

Oh Lindsey, wait till you're my age....I seem to forget everything any more. Some days aren't so bad, but I can really tell I'm worse if I'm stressed, so maybe that's it.

I have to say, I have been pretty stressed lately. My cousin is getting married this weekend, and my other cousin (and one of my best friends) Brandi is coming up with her three kids. I haven't seen her since before she was even pregnant with her last baby (over 2 years ago!) and she doesn't have a lot of money so she doesn't really ever get to travel. I'm trying so hard to make everything easy on her, finding and booking a hotel room, planning activities, I even made a hair appointment before the wedding so Brandi, her 5 year old daughter, and I can go and get pampered and have our hair done I had to go to my engaged cousin's stagette, and another friend's going-away party. At work, my coworker quit in a rage and has left me with EVERYTHING. Well not quite left me with it, because it seems he took or deleted a whole project he was working on, and that's over a year of work. I have no idea what to do about that.
Sooo yeah stress is probably a good indication. It just seems weird because I have such a good memory! I always have. I can remember numbers very well. I can still recite the phone numbers of any of my friends from when I was 8 years old! But lately, I'll be at work and I'll calculate something, and when I go to type it in the computer 5 seconds later it's already gone! I think probably in a month or so I will maybe get a free night to just relax Maybe then my brain will go back to normal... or as normal as it ever was
